How cool is this?! We had a visitor all the way from Australia stop by Against The Grain today!

He’s in Texas on business and was traveling from Austin to Houston when he decided to ask ChatGPT for some nice places to stop along the way. After visiting Bastrop State Park, his next stop was our little shop in downtown Columbus! ❤️

Of course, we couldn’t let him leave without adding a pin to Australia on our world map! 📍

We absolutely LOVE hearing how people find us, and this one was especially fun! Who would’ve thought ChatGPT would help bring someone from the other side of the world right through our front door?!

📍 Another Pin, Another Story! ❤️

One of my favorite things about our little shop is the wonderful people we get to meet and the conversations that come with each visit!

Today, we had the pleasure of meeting this sweet couple from Marietta, Texas, a small town in Northeast Texas near where Texas, Arkansas, and Oklahoma come together!

They are spending some time in the Houston area and enjoying exploring the small towns around it. Lucky for us, their adventures brought them to Columbus and right through our doors! They picked up some sourdough, bread, and a few other goodies, but the best part was getting to visit with them!

We even discovered that their travels will take them to Tyler, Texas — my old stomping grounds, where I was born and raised! Of course, that sparked a whole new conversation about Tyler and some of the places they might enjoy visiting. ❤️

It’s moments like these that remind me that our little shop is about so much more than food. It’s about connections, conversations, and sometimes finding a little piece of home in a complete stranger.

Thank you both for stopping in, sharing your story, and adding another pin to our map! Wishing you safe travels, wonderful adventures, and all the very best in the days ahead! ❤️
