Our smallest dog, Feline (45lb @ 2.5 yrs old) training/playing with George (90lb @ 7-8 months old).

Watching these 2 is hilarious. The dog bed became the wrestling mat, 1 dog on it at all times...usually Feline, who by the end won and claimed the mat and bone while George took off with the tiny squeak lamb.

Feline was the 6lb wormy 6 week old who was "donated" (dumped) on the property. George was found in a creek near a shelter, adopted, but quickly found to need rehomed again due to circumstances, and found his way here this past April.

He's integrated well with the pack, (2 Pyrenees, 1 border collie mix, 1 pit/lab, & 1 mutty mutt aka his pack sister Feline.) They each take turns training him in their own way which is so important, especially in this phase of life and with such a rocky start.

We are so appreciative of our new local vet, Dr. Dawson Clark, of Colquitt Animal Hospital.

Since he began working in our area this last month, he has filled a gap in large animal health care. While we do have a couple vets a little farther away, none are dedicated to large animals and call outs any day of the week like he is. His long history raised around cattle made him excellent at handling them, even when I thought one was born for rodeo. We've managed to vaccinate, deworm, get ear tags in, administer meds for pink eye treatment & palate the pregnant cow.

The flies, no-see-ums, & mosquitos have been relentless this year and with the new world screw worm threat now within US borders, he's made it his personal mission to help me get our flying plague under control as all-natural tactics have just not been working for us this yr.

Not only did he handle the cattle, but he handled Maya without a hitch, my lovely, well trained Pyrenees whos terrified of the vet office since she was a puppy. For the first time, a vet got to see her without fear or reactivity simply by doing it on the farm.

We couldnt be more grateful for his help. I highly recommend Dr. Clark for your local farm vet needs.

Mustang Mae practicing her ghost impression with trainer Sydney Scott of Free2Be Equestrian-Sydney Scott, a trainer within Crew Equestrian - The Sky Is Not the Limit Academy . run by Mirka Crew.

At only 6 weeks into gentling with Sydney, they've conquered the scary sheet! This will help her be able to use fly sheets, winter blankets, and cool Halloween costumes. 👻😎

Mae comes home in two weeks for a break from training. We are so very grateful for the progress Sydney has made with Mae to make her life with us so much more manageable and give her more opportunity.

I love seeing 10.5 month old Effie and 2 week old baby sister Freya napping together. Theyve begun to do this more frequently and it is adorable!

Its been interesting to watch the herd dynamic both since the baby Freya arrived 2 weeks ago, and when her grandmother arrive shortly after.

The grandmother cow knows both her granddaughters. 1 from memory (she'd left 2 months prior) and the other...well...you tell me?

I am glad to learn cows the slow way and enjoying taking the opportunity to see how they function as a 3 generation family unit in a newly formed herd.

On another note, grandmother Blue Bells bag is beginning to get larger... (O.o)

Maya & George both visited their vet, Dr. Bridges, today. Both these poor puppies are suffering ear infections related to seasonal allergies & all this humidity.

Georgie Porgie weighed in at 77 lb (a 25lb gain in 2 months.) He got his final puppy shots & rattlesnake booster, and aside from the ear infection (2nd one...hmmm) he is stamped a good healthy growing puppy.

Maya (109 lb) on the other hand is we looked at history. She has 3 years of eye and ear infections at the same time of year. This girl's got a heavy grass pollen allergy we suspect. Some of the more common allergy treatments haven't worked, so now we're going to hit it with a newly released medication and see how it works. We'll know best next year when we started her on it mid-March. Her season is April through June.

Our mini highland/hereford, Dorthy, is such a good girl. She loves all the scratches and rubs.

I hadn't realized that despite her sweet demeanor with me, she has quietly taken over the herd as the dominate heifer, even above the two older ones of equal size. 😆😁

We are excited to welcome home Blue Bell!

We were recently offered the opportunity to purchase 'Bell's Ambrosia's' ('Ambrosia' for short) mother, Effie & Freya's grandmother, Blue Bell. We couldn't pass up the opportunity.

Blue Bell is a retired show cow. She is a mid sized mini registered Jersey currently bred to a micro mini hereford bull and is expecting any day!

We are very excited to have her and hope to continue her legacy here.
