I don’t think America is running out of farmers & farms. I think we’re running out of people who can afford to keep farming.

There’s a big difference.
You can love your land. You can love your cattle. You can love farming your whole life and still get to a point where you just can’t afford to keep going.

Because land isn’t free & neither are property taxes, feed, diesel, fencing, maintenance, etc

And when a family farm is sold, we don’t just lose a farm. We can lose generations of knowledge that took decades to build. You can’t just buy the knowledge that comes from generations of doing it. That’s what worries me. Not whether America knows how to farm. We do.

It’s whether enough farmers will still be able to afford to do it. After all the expenses, they still have to be able to support their families… and when they can’t…… eventually, we run out of “somebody else.”

And when that happens, we’re all going to notice. What will America be eating, if that happens. America needs farmers.
And we need to make sure the next generation can actually afford to be them.
