We are soooooo excited!!!

😂 WELL… APPARENTLY WE GOT A MEMO.
We received an anonymous letter asking us to reconsider allowing small local businesses to do FREE pop-ups at OK Roots Farm To Market because every sale they make is supposedly a sale taken away from one of our vendors.
We read it.
We thought about it.
And then we remembered who we are. 😂
OK Roots was built around supporting local, not figuring out how to keep one small business from selling something because another small business might sell something too.
We don’t believe there is only one pie and everybody has to fight over the slices.
We’d rather make the pie bigger. 🥧
More pop-ups = more people through the doors. More people = more exposure for EVERYONE. More local businesses succeeding = a stronger local community.
And just so nobody feels left out…
📣 OUR CURRENT OK ROOTS VENDORS ARE ALSO WELCOME TO DO FREE POP-UPS!
Bring your table. Meet your customers. Tell people about your products. Sell your own products. Keep 100% of your pop-up sales.
We’ll even advertise it.
Crazy, we know. 😂
So, anonymous letter writer, we appreciate the stamp and the concern. USPS appreciates your business too. 📬😂
But the FREE pop-ups are staying.
Because at OK Roots, supporting local doesn’t stop at our front door. ❤️🌱
And if helping another small business succeed somehow means we’re doing this wrong…
We’re probably going to keep doing it wrong. 😂

⛽️ ANOTHER REASON TO SHOP LOCAL. ❤️
Diesel prices are at record highs.
States across the country are taking emergency measures to help farmers, truckers and businesses deal with soaring fuel costs. Some independent truckers are even parking their rigs or talking about shutting down because they simply cannot continue absorbing these fuel prices.
And eventually, those transportation costs make their way down to all of us.
This is another reminder of why LOCAL MATTERS.
When you shop at OK Roots Farm to Market, you're supporting food and products that don't always have to travel hundreds or thousands of miles through multiple warehouses and distribution centers before reaching your family.
🥩 Beef from Nowata
🐖 Pork from Pryor
🐓 Chicken from Colcord
🥚 Local eggs
🥛 Local milk
🍞 Local bakers
🌱 Local farmers, growers and makers
We can't eliminate transportation costs. Our farmers still need fuel too.
But we CAN continue building a stronger local food system where more of our food is grown, raised, made and sold right here in Oklahoma.
Every dollar spent locally helps keep a farmer farming, a baker baking, a small business open and our community a little more resilient.
Know where your food comes from. Know who you're supporting. Shop local. ❤️

Your Tuesday grocery run looks a little different here. 🤗

Fresh produce, locally made pantry staples, baked goods, handcrafted soaps, and a few things you probably didn’t have on your shopping list.

Every shelf has a little story behind it, with so many great products from local farmers, makers, and small businesses. 🤍

Now for an important question… are you team spaghetti squash or butternut squash? 😂 How do you like to prepare them at home?
