Saturday is our market day for Colfax, La. We will have yellow squash, zucchini, cucumbers and a limited amount of cracked and shelled pecans.

Many of the Senior Farmers Market cards have been loaded with $30 in market money. Try to spend this card while choices are plentiful. Every year we see people who hold their cards until November, when choices are limited and then the cards expire.

Keep following Littlepage Farms for the latest offerings. You may buy honey, fresh herbs, and fresh produce with your FMNP card.

Look for this sign at the Farmers Markets. It signifies that the farmer has been inspected. And approved to take the Senior Farmers Market card.

Today starts the Farmers Market Nutrition Program. Senior citizens have applied for and received cards loaded with a stipend for purchasing honey, fresh produce and herbs. I will have ample supplies of honey and squash at the Alex Farmers Market today at 3.

Please do not store these cards as the supply of fresh produce is best right now. Holding them until they expire helps no one and is a waste.
