I know I haven’t been posting as diligently as I normally do, and that’s because life has been a little heavy lately.

Last night, our family faced the devastating loss of my stepdad, Larry. While we knew this day was coming, everything happened significantly faster than we ever expected, and we are heartbroken.

With that, I’ll be taking a little time away to be with my family and navigate the days ahead. ❤️

Weather permitting, the stand will remain stocked, so please feel free to stop and shop as normal. The only thing I ask is for a little extra grace and patience with website orders over the next week or so. Please allow a few additional processing days while I take this time with my family.

Thank you so much for understanding and for giving me a little grace during this time. And thank you to everyone who has checked in, prayed for us, or simply kept our family in your thoughts. It truly means more than you know. 🤍

🍂 Last Fall Launch: Patchouli Tallow Soap

Rounding out our fall collection is a scent for all of you patchouli lovers out there… because apparently there are plenty of you. 😂 While this may not be my personal favorite, I have to admit—the fragrance blend makes for a pretty great earthy fall soap!

Our Patchouli Tallow Soap starts with a fresh, slightly cooling camphor top note, moves into a subtle touch of violet, and finishes with deep patchouli, cedarwood, and musk. The result is an earthy, woodsy, slightly musky scent that feels right at home on a cool fall day. 🍁

If you love fragrances that are a little less sweet and pumpkin-y and a little more walk-through-the-woods-on-a-crisp-fall-morning, this one is for you.

🍂 FEATURE FRIDAY: Vanilla Tallow Balm 🤍

This week’s Feature Friday is one we’ve been working on all summer long — our new Vanilla Tallow Balm!

So what makes this different from our whipped tallow lotion? For starters, it’s a balm. It has a richer, denser texture that melts into the skin rather than the light, fluffy texture of our whipped lotions. It’s made for those areas that need a little more TLC, especially as we head into colder weather.

Our Vanilla Balm starts with vanilla-infused tallow and includes marshmallow root, zinc, colloidal oatmeal, jojoba oil, and vitamin E. Marshmallow root is traditionally used for its soothing and conditioning properties, while colloidal oatmeal helps soothe and protect dry, irritated-feeling skin and supports the skin’s moisture barrier. Zinc adds another skin-protective component, making this a deeply nourishing blend for rough, dry skin.

Funny enough, this balm didn’t start out as a fall and winter product! We spent the summer experimenting with this type of blend with the original idea of creating a calming after-shave balm. But as we tested it, I started using it on my son’s very dry, eczema-prone skin and was so impressed with how nourishing it felt that I knew its usefulness went far beyond after-shave care.

So we changed course a little. 🤍

With cold, dry weather, wind, and cracked winter skin right around the corner, this became exactly the kind of product I wanted in our fall and winter lineup. Use it on dry hands, elbows, knees, feet, or anywhere that needs some extra moisture and protection.

And because the scent comes from our vanilla-infused tallow, it has a wonderfully light, subtle vanilla scent rather than a heavy fragrance.

Some late-night soap inventory and holiday planning. 🍂🧼🎄

While we’re gearing up to launch our fall scents this week, Christmas is already in the works behind the scenes!

This table sees a lot of me — usually late at night after my kids are asleep or early in the morning before I leave for work. There are a lot of long days, late nights, mistakes, some failures, lists, ideas, messes, and figuring things out as I go.

Running this little business on top of work and raising a family is definitely a lot sometimes, but I truly enjoy building it. There’s something really special about watching an idea turn into a product, seeing it sitting on the stand, and knowing that someone chose to take something I made home with them.

Right now, Mineral Springs Tallow Co. is my “side gig,” but I hope someday it gets to be so much more than that. I hope it becomes a full-time passion and helps me build a life that gives my kids more time with me, more experiences, and a childhood and future they truly enjoy.

So for now, I’ll keep spending the late nights at this table, making soap, planning the next season, and seeing where this little business takes us. ❤️

Fall is coming this week… but apparently Christmas is coming too. 😂🍁🎄
