The Future
Dear friends! We have moved off the farm but still and always will have a connection with our family there--the Yegerlehner’s: Alan, Mary, and Kate (Cobb). Not enough can be said about their integrity, benevolence, and knowledge in the tender, titanic facets of agriculture. Jason and I have moved on to another story, but our final destination will never change: we plan to own a few acres with a house and woods, enough to live as sustainably as possible one day in the near future. Sometimes the twists and turns in a road provide a new direction, but the end of the road still reveals a picture of that dream held deep within one’s heart. Jason misses his bees, working the land and the animals, the strong connection with people who shared his philosophies of farming. I miss the gardening, my flowers, my herbs, the sounds of coyotes at night, the silence at night, the sunrises and sunsets, the cows, the chickens, and most of all, the closeness we all shared. However, nothing can remove roots that have formed deep within the heart and the earth, and we visit the farm now and then to either buy products or to help out when we can. God is moving in extraordinary ways. I know that whatever Jason and I do, in the interim, our work will always reap good outcomes. Thanks to everyone who supported Earth Boy in those days, and who knows?--maybe it will see a revival one day! Salut!
