Here we go again!

We’re out here tonight planting our second sunflower field for the 2026 season. We’re in Montgomery County (Clarksburg) Maryland! 🌻🌻🌻

June was sneaky! Been so busy we didn’t even know we had blueberries!

Busy days on the farm tryin’ to get all the things done. Along the way we’re just lovin’ family, these dogs and our life here❤️ so grateful for this land and a home that gives us such a happy life.

🌻 5 Sunflower Facts Most People Don’t Know

1. A sunflower isn’t actually one flower.
That giant bloom is made up of 1,000–2,000 tiny flowers packed together in the center. Each seed comes from its own little flower.

2. Mature sunflowers don’t follow the sun.
Only young buds track the sun across the sky. Once they open, most sunflowers lock into an east-facing position for the rest of their lives.

3. The seed pattern is based on math.
The spirals in a sunflower head follow the famous Fibonacci sequence, allowing the plant to pack the maximum number of seeds into the available space.

4. Sunflowers can clean contaminated soil.
They’ve been used in a process called phytoremediation, where they absorb certain heavy metals and pollutants from the ground.

5. For the longest-lasting bouquet, don’t wait for full bloom. Sunflowers should be cut when they’re just beginning to open. They’ll continue opening in a vase at home and will often last longer than flowers cut fully open in the field.

We’re kinda bizzzy

Opening this summer once everything grows and looks awesome. Sunflower season is our jam and we’re excited. Are you? Bloom will be in late July— if we get rain and mother nature want to support our efforts 🌧️☀️🌻👍

We’re crazy for the cosmos and it’s gonna be gorgeous🌸

…if it grows.

And it might just be the most beautiful photo op spot on the farm next to the sunflowers this summer.

Today we threw down our cosmos seed, just before the rain, and either it will have all washed away or it’s gonna be spectacular in a couple months. Stay tuned to find out!
