10 years of meeting new faces, building relationships, thumping watermelons, picking produce, making memories that will last a lifetime, and growing, growing, growing!

Today The Citrus Tree turns 10! 🥳

It’s hard to believe it’s already been 10 years since we started out in a little wooden shack on the corner of Winton Rd and Corbett. Since then, we’ve upgraded to a larger building, added LOTS of different products to our selection, added on a garden center, hired more staff members, created so many wonderful relationships and will soon have our very own café!

The amount of love and support from each and every one of our customers is greatly appreciated. We love our community and we love what we do. Truly. You all make this dream a reality and we cannot thank you enough. We feel SO blessed. ❤️

We look forward to what the future has in store and cannot wait to share more updates as they come to fruition!

Queso highly recommends buying a catnip plant for your favorite feline friend. 🐱🌿

🌿Catnip is a natural stimulant and may cause your cat to suddenly act playful, affectionate, and frisky. This is due to the compound nepetalactone found in the plant. About 70% of cats usually react to it.
🌿The effects of catnip only last about 5-15 minutes and then your cat will likely be ready for a snooze. 💤
🌿Catnip is in the mint family and can often be used as perennial if planted in the ground. Pollinators love the flowers too! 🐝
🌿Catnip can be given to cats fresh or dried. A little bit can go a long way, but Queso was thoroughly enjoying the results of our plant’s much needed hair cut. 😸
🌿Although catnip is considered harmless to cats, try limiting your feline friend’s exposure to 1-2x a week to prevent desensitization.

Our organic catnip plants can be found on our Herb Table display for only $5.29! They grow quickly and can be cut and dried for unlimited fun all year long. 😻

Swallowtail caterpillars have been spotted enjoying the dill. Meanwhile, the bees are grateful for a little break from the rain and have been busy collecting nectar among the nepeta. We have even seen some hummingbirds flitting around the salvia! It’s exciting to see the numerous pollinators enjoying our plants. 💛

We have loads of pollinator friendly plants to choose from, both annuals and perennials! Ask one of our garden shop staff to help guide you to the pollinator plants that best fits your garden. 🌻

Need a flower that’s ✨low maintenance ✨sun tolerant ✨heat tolerant✨and drought tolerant??
Then you need Periwinkle (aka Vinca)!!

Today we just received lots of beautiful upright Periwinkle in more color options than ever before! Periwinkle does wonderfully in a full-sun landscape or container and continues to send out vibrant blooms all summer long! Water *only* when needed (when the soil is dry) and feed with an all purpose fertilizer about every 10-14 days to keep the plant happy and healthy.
That’s it!

Periwinkle is truly the lazy gardener’s best friend. 💜
