Today is **Alaska Wild Salmon Day**—a day to honor the resource that sustains our state, our communities, and our family! 🌊🐟

For us at **Comset Fisheries**, fishing is a family endeavor. It takes teamwork, dedication, and a deep respect for Alaska’s waters to do what we do every season. For those of you who came to the beach this summer, we were asked how we do with high tides. We definitely had some 21' tides that came right up to the rocks on our ramps. We parked 2 skiffs on the ramp along with the trucks and backhoe. One skiff was pushed up to the bluff along with our totes and other equipment.
(I love how our little's blue flag weathered the elements.) We were lucky there was not a storm or big winds with these tides.

We had a drop in visitor -- well, enough to wave and enjoy his flight.

Here it is August and I've neglected to share some photos with all of you. We were grateful to see some of our retail customers as they came to purchase FRESH WILD sockeye salmon. Thank you for your continued support. Even with the massive change in our gear type, we are thankful to be able to maintain this 4-generation family fishing operation.

We're sad to announce, as some of you have already heard, that the AK Department of Fish and Game has pre-emptively closed our Commercial Shrimp Season for 2026. The reason being -- their survey indicated the population was 4 points below the carrying capacity that the Board of Fish has established as a hard line. We feel confident we will have a season next year and hope you'll stay customers with us until then. We will still be in Ninilchik for Salmon during the summer months.
