The red flesh of the strawberry is an aggregate accessory fruit 🤓 while the specks we call the “seeds”are actually tiny individual fruits themselves! They’re called “achenes,” and each contains a single (v small) seed. Magnified, you can see that some of them resemble a miniature pear 💫🍓

AgriFest is just under two weeks away! On Saturday, June 20th Agricole’s parking lot will transform into an outdoor marketplace with farmers, artisans, a live DJ, a food truck, kids activities, and more — all for a meaningful community cause.

Rhubarb is from the Polygonacae family of flowering plants that also includes buckwheat and sorrel. We eat the stalks only because the leaves are highly oxalic and thus toxic, but these colorful beauties are lovely in a pie or reduced into a compote with lemon zest and culinary lavender.
