Stop by on Saturday, Oct. 17 from 8 a.m.–12:30 p.m. to exchange your SNAP/EBT funds for market tokens. Volunteers will be ready to help you shop fresh, local, and delicious!

2️⃣ Growfest with Tomorrow’s Garden
Also on Saturday, Oct. 17 from 8 a.m.–2 p.m., dive into Growfest—a hands-on celebration of gardening! Enjoy a seed swap, interactive seed-saving demos, and plenty of inspiration for gardeners of all experience levels.

3️⃣ Sunday Yoga & Meditation
Wind down the weekend on Sunday, Oct. 18 from 10–11 a.m. with a gentle, beginner-friendly yoga and meditation session designed to nourish your body, mind, and spirit.

Position: Maintenance/Construction Technician I (Temporary, Part-Time)

Pay: $15.00 – $18.50 per hour

Location: Charlotte Regional Farmers Market

Love working with your hands? Enjoy being outdoors? Want to help support one of Charlotte’s most vibrant community hubs? The Charlotte Regional Farmers Market is looking for a dedicated Maintenance/Construction Technician I to help keep our 22-acre, year‑round marketplace running smoothly.

With over 550,000 visitors a year and vendors from across the Carolinas and beyond, you’ll play an essential role in creating a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for everyone who walks through our doors.

What You’ll Do:
• Maintain buildings, grounds, and equipment
• Support daily operations that keep the market thriving
• Help provide an exceptional visitor experience

What We’re Looking For:
• Skilled in using and maintaining maintenance tools/equipment
• Ability to operate common shop and woodworking equipment safely
• Strong attention to oral and written instructions
• Physical strength and stamina for heavy manual tasks
• Ability to lift 50 lbs
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions

Our beautiful Brenda Bivins will be laid to rest on Thursday, October 15th. Her Memorial Service will be held in Baltimore from 12 noon to 2 p.m., with the Repass to follow from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. The family knows that may here in North Carolina want to pay their respects. There will be a live stream of the services on both Youtube and Facebook.

Saturday, October 17th from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Charlotte Regional Farmers Market will host Growfest in partnership with Tomorrow's Garden. This hands on event brings together a seed swap and interactive seed saving demonstrations for gardeners of all experience levels.

Guests can explore free seeds from the Charlotte Seed Bank and get hands-on demonstrations on how to process seeds that you saved yourself from this past growing season. If you have seeds to trade, feel free to bring them - leftover opened or gently used packets are welcome.

Attendees are also invited to join a gardening and culinary book swap. You can browse selections from their free library or bring books of your own to share with fellow growers.

This weekend at the Charlotte Regional Farmers Market, we’ve got three great events happening!

Saturday, October 3
Volunteers will be on-site exchanging SNAP/EBT benefits for market tokens from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. A huge thank you to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Food Policy Council and the Mecklenburg County Health Department’s Food Security Program for making this possible.

Sunday, October 4
Start your morning with a relaxing Yoga and Meditation session led by Ariel from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. It’s the perfect way to ease into your day.

Also on Sunday, Kids Power Hour is getting a little spooky! Children can enjoy hands-on creative workshops at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., and 12 p.m. Each session is just $10 per child per hour.

Farmers Market Yoga & Meditation Series Continues with new dates!

Begin your market day mindfully by slowing down, connecting with your body, and enjoying a FREE community wellness offering from a retired family doctor & yoga teacher.

Join us for a gentle, beginner-friendly yoga & meditation experience designed to nourish the body, mind, and spirit.

This gathering is about more than yoga—it’s about holistic healing, community connection, and coming home to ourselves.

Move, breathe, reflect, and begin your day rooted in wellness before exploring all the local goodness the market has to offer!

All levels & all bodies welcome. Meet in the heart of the farmers market in the Greenery Shed, Building E- Come as you are, and please bring a mat if possible (a few extra mats provided)

Dates this month are Sundays October 4th and 18th from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Use the QR code to register for the class or the link on the post. Walk ups welcome.
