Did you know that Indiana has a native cactus? Perhaps the cutest little native seedling of all, Eastern Prickly Pear is so adaptable you can find her growing from Florida to Canada! 🌡

This is officially the final new plant headed out to the plant nursery tables for the season. Guys, I've been at it since February 1st, I'm tired! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜…πŸ₯° The following plant list is all of the plants we have left for the year (aside from some larger divisions I'll take and offer this summer/fall).

You'll find some or all of these friends at our Plainfield Chamber Farmers' Market booth this Wednesday and at our farm stand this Saturday on the West Central FarmStand Trail!! πŸ’š

From February to May, I have dozens of folks messaging me about a plant they've tried to germinate and nothing grew, or a plant they've tried to pamper but it died anyway. They ask, what do you think I keep doing wrong? Why do I have so much trouble growing this one plant? Everything else seems happy!

Let me share a well kept secret, sweet friends, that will make your gardening adventures so much more fun and fulfilling:

✨It's okay to not be good at growing everything!!✨

I am not good at growing everything. You may say I have a green thumb, but you might reconsider if you saw the sheer number of seeds I've failed to germinate and plants I've accidentally killed. Thousands!

It's taken me a decade of gardening to realize and come to peace with the fact I am not good at growing everything. That's okay-- someone else on this planet is good at growing that thing! Find them and support them! Double down on your talents and the plants that come naturally to you! I promise your growing season will feel so much less stressful and so much more magical.

This message is brought to you by me, who struggles to germinate even 10 Lady's Mantle plants a season. She's so fussy for me. Instead, I found Summersfield Farm, who grows the nicest Lady's Mantle plants I've ever seen in person. Keep her in mind if you're looking for herbs you can't find in my nursery or grow for yourself! She's a lovely plant person! πŸ’š

**UPDATE: I showed up to set up at market and my spot is entirely flooded with water. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ’€ Mother Nature says: take the evening off. I love you all! If you're local to Plainfield and would like a bouquet, teas, or herbs delivered, feel free to message me before 5pm and I'll swing by! See you next week!**

Headed to the Plainfield Chamber Farmers' Market with baskets full of green magic! My boss (Mother Nature) needs to make up her mind today, though! πŸ˜‚πŸŒ¦οΈ

Swing by from 4pm to 7pm for herbs, teas, cosmetics, bouquets, and more! πŸ’›
