Hillside Apples is a family run orchard located on Highway 54, just minutes east of Green Bay and a short distance from Door County. We grow about 30 different varieties of apples, pears, pumpkins & squash. When you come to pick, you may walk or drive your car into the orchard with your family. Bring a picnic and enjoy the farmland and our beautiful orchard. On weekends in September and October, you may enjoy a free wagon ride to and from the orchard and pumpkin patch. This is what family memories are made of!

Hello, Friday Update! (10/16/26) 🍎🍏

🍂 Last Day of the Season 🍂
Sunday, October 25th

Now is the time to stock up on all your favorite apples and c***r before the season comes to an end! We still have a great selection of late-season apples that store well, along with fresh c***r that can be frozen to enjoy long after the season ends.

🍎 Apples 🍏
In-store: Honeycrisp, Cortland, McIntosh, Empire, Harrelson, Jonathan, Macoun, Wolf River, Crimson Crisp, Ambrosia, Honeygold, Golden Delicious, Russet, Pink Lady, SnowSweet, Bartlett Pears, and Flemish Beauty Pears.

Pick-your-own: Cortland, McIntosh, Pink Lady, Golden Delicious, Harrelson, and Jonathan.

*There is still excellent picking in the middle and back sections of the orchard, especially for Cortland and McIntosh!

Ripening Soon: Jonagold and Red Delicious — expected next week.

🎃 Pumpkins and Fall Décor 🍂
We're getting close to the end of our pumpkin supply! We have plenty of pumpkins picked and ready for the weekend, but we won't be picking any more this season. There are still plenty of pumpkins to find out in the patches, so there's time to come out and pick your own!

We also have plenty of straw bales, corn shocks, and small gourds for those last-minute Halloween decorating projects.

🎃 Giant Pumpkins 🎃
In case you missed us on Fox 11 Wednesday, Bill's pumpkin placed 4th, weighing in at an impressive 1,703 lbs!

Brad's pumpkin will be picked today and then head to Mishicot for Pumpkin Fest on Saturday.
What do you think it weighs? Leave your guesses in the comments! 🎃

Have a great weekend, everyone!

Hello, Friday Update! (10/9/26) 🍎🍏

The end of the season is almost here, but not quite yet! We still have plenty of fall goodness to enjoy, so come out and see us while you can!

🍎 Apples 🍏
In-store: Honeycrisp, Cortland, McIntosh, Empire, Macoun, Wolf River, Harrelson, Yellow Bartlett Pears, and Flemish Beauty Pears.
We still have some Gingergold apples left, but we're nearing the end of the season for those!

Pick-your-own: Cortland, McIntosh, Empire, Macoun, Harrelson, and Jonathan.
🍎 A little tip for Cortland pickers: We still have plenty of Cortland apples to pick in the far corner of the orchard! Many people tend to pick from the first trees they come across, so be sure to venture farther down the rows. There's more to find!

Ripening Soon:
Jonagold — 1–2 weeks
Golden Delicious — 1–2 weeks
Crimson Crisp — 1–2 weeks (it looks like we'll have a limited crop this year)
Ambrosia — About 2 weeks
Red Delicious — About 2 weeks

🎃 Pumpkins 🎃
We still have a great selection of large orange pumpkins, both in the patch and pre-picked!
We also have a bin or two of pie pumpkins left, but they won't last long.
Unfortunately, we're sold out of the specialty large gourds and doll mix pumpkins.

🎃 Giant Pumpkins 🎃
While we had some pretty big pumpkins on display out front this season, they weren't the biggest ones grown in the patch!
Both owners Bill and Brad grew giant pumpkins this year. Bill's pumpkin last measured an estimated 1,500 lbs., while Brad's measured 1,250 lbs. Because of their size and potential to place in competition, we decided not to display them at the orchard this year.
However, if you're looking for something fun to do over the next two Saturdays, you can see these giants in person!

🎃 This Saturday, October 10th
Owner Bill will be bringing his giant pumpkin to Fond du Lac for the Great Pumpkin Weigh-Off at Fondy FallToberFest.
For details, visit: https://www.fdlfest.com/fondy-falltoberfest/

🎃 Next Saturday, October 17th
Owner Brad will be bringing his giant pumpkin to Mishicot for Pumpkin Fest.
For details, visit: https://www.exploretworivers.com/explore/page/pumpkin-fest-mishicot-0

Come enjoy some fall fun and check out these giant pumpkins! 🍂🎃

Hello! First post of the year (2026)! 🍎🍏

Hope everyone has been having a wonderful summer! Fall is only a few weeks away, so here are a few updates for Apple Season 2026!

🌼 MUMS
We will be opening for mum sales starting Thursday, August 27th.
Our hours will be:
Thursday: 10 AM–5 PM
Friday: 10 AM–5 PM
Saturday: 9 AM–1 PM
Sunday: CLOSED

At this time, the mums are still very green, and the buds are only starting to form. There are a few varieties showing color, but about 90% are still green.
By next week, there should be much more color, making it easier for you to pick out the colors you want.
We have a few less mums than last year, with roughly 8,500 plants. With that being said, if you are unable to get here right away, there is no need to rush. In past years, we have had a great selection even around Labor Day.
However, selection does tend to become more limited around the middle of September, so don't wait too long!

🍎 APPLES
Our first major variety, Paula Red, should be ripe by the beginning of September. After that, Zestar should be close behind, although we're not sure of the exact dates yet.
I don't have estimates on when McIntosh, Cortland, and Honeycrisp will be ready, but we will let you know as soon as we see signs of ripening.
Overall, the crop is looking good! Unlike most of the state, we have been getting lots of rain this summer, and the apples have been loving it!
Unfortunately, we did get a little bit of very small, pea-sized hail around mid-summer on the western end of the orchard. As far as we can tell, there wasn't a lot of damage, but you may notice some small bumps on some of your apples. This is mostly a surface blemish and will not affect flavor or storage.
As far as crop size, we have an average to slightly above-average amount of apples this year.

🎃 PUMPKINS, SQUASH & OTHER FIELD GOODS
Pumpkins are looking good! 👍
We did struggle a little when planting this year due to inconsistent rain. The fields were too dry in some spots, so germination was inconsistent in many areas.
Those plants have since caught up, and we should have a good crop of all types of pumpkins (orange and specialty) as well as fall squash.

Have a great rest of the summer, and we hope to see you here soon! 🍎🍏🎃
