This locker is located at 1810 Franklin Street in Carlyle, Illinois and was previously owned and operated by Mike Seiffert. Since opening the meat locker they have established a great business for themselves slaughtering beef, hogs and deer. Seiffert has been in the business for many years and is ready to retire. Sam and I are going to operate under the name Scott's Processing LLC. Sam has over 5

years of experience working in the slaughter industry and throughout those years has gained a great deal of knowledge in the meat business. We will strive to provide our customers with the same Quality and Service as the Seiffert's have for the past 40 years and we know that we can do great things for the business and the community of Carlyle.

A nice individual left a remark on my hog post earlier about how much he would save by purchasing the equivalent to a half hog at Schnucks.

At first it kind of upset me, because I’m not Schnucks and I would never compare locally sourced, fresh butchered meat to a box store.

However, it also made me curious.

Was the price really unreasonable?
Could you really buy the equivalent for half the price at Schnucks?

I did some research, did some shopping at the online store, and was actually shocked at what I found.

I’ll just leave this here and let you guys be the judge!

I believe this batch of hogs is all spoken for, but we will always have more coming in next year!

We will be open regular hours during second shotgun season , but we will not be processing Whole Deer until after shotgun season on December 9th.

We will be accepting boneless meat this weekend.
