Our W**d Assassins started work yesterday. Because of the work they put in last year and the new weeding equipment we had last year, the fields didn't need hand attention until now. The first year we took over the fields, we were paying W**d Assassins the 3rd week of May!

These are some of the BEST youth in the area. They work hard all summer long. We had a lot of return workers and have a handful that are trying us out for the first time.

On Saturday we watered (again, because we're "abnormally dry" according to U.S. drought monitor ). This morning (Monday) we are experiencing some rain. We hope it adds up 🤞 because nature's rain is superior to irrigation. The plants LOVE it. A few days ago Barnum received 2.5" in some spots. The Berry Field did not 😭

Our farm is near these two farmers. This is a great mini-video of them and their work. They care immensely about soil and quality food. Our area is fortunate to have so many local, quality food sources.

Farmer Joe's birthday 🎈 was a few days ago. One of the gifts he received was a handmade diorama from our 11yr old. He has been making tiny 1/64 implements and 1/64 tractor modifications for years. He has an amazing talent with common craft supplies.

This diorama is of the Ford (blue tractor) cultivating a field to kill weeds and quack grass. He also has the Farmall H (red tractor) spraying micronutrients on the strawberry crop.

It's busy this time of year for us, and Farmer Joe also had some wood to haul and some berries to take care of. Maybe you spotted our log truck at The Berry Field 🍓 when the jobs overlapped 🤣
