Handmade by Hannah Rose

My name is Hannah Rose, and I’ve been crafting for just about my whole life. Growing up in a creative household, I was always hooked on a new project, finding ways to create something totally unique. As an adult, I developed a habit of learning new skills just so I could custom-make things the way I wanted them: a crystal net necklace small enough for my tiny garnet, or a tarot card pouch big enough for my oracle deck. Before I knew it, I was making things for my friends and family, too!

I’ve also been reading tarot for over 11 years, and have begun developing my own tarot deck. It’s a huge passion of mine, and I’d love for you to join me on my journey!

Please check out my webpage to explore my concept art and read sample summaries from my guidebook. You can also subscribe to my monthly newsletter and find a link to my Handmade by Hannah Rose website:

Hi, I’m Tami.

I’m an educator, movement teacher, Pilates instructor, and nervous system guide with more than 40 years of experience supporting children, families, educators, and communities.

I created Move Into Calm to help children and the adults who support them build regulation, connection, and resilience from the body up—through movement, breath, nervous system awareness, and play.

My work bridges neuroscience, child development, education, and movement to help adults look beyond behavior and better understand what the nervous system may be communicating. Because regulation isn’t something we simply ask of children. It’s something we build with them.

Through professional development, school and community workshops, parent education, and individual support, I give adults practical, body-based tools they can use in real-life moments—not just when everything is already calm.

My approach begins with a simple belief: When the body feels safe, connection becomes possible. And when connection is present, learning, regulation, and growth can follow.

Come and see me at Ojibwa on November 7th to learn about "Move into Calm," a program I developed based Connection, Movement, and the Nervous System. I will there until around 2 or 3pm.

*Herb of the Day*

I would consider LAVENDER to be one of the most popular herbs and or Scents.

Native to the Mediterranean region lavender is a shrub that is grown for its beautiful purple flowers used in herbal medicine and perfumery.

It has been used as a general tonic, sedative, antispasmodic, diuretic, digestive aid, and gas remedy. Most popularly used as a relaxant and sedative.

Because of his wide range of properties, it has been used for ailment such as insomnia, nervousness, headaches, nausea and gas. It’s aroma help to stimulate mental processes and alleviate depression.

The essential oil has antiseptic qualities that kill several types of disease, causing bacteria

It is used to treat skin elements like fungus, burns, wounds, eczema, and acne..

Considerations

Lavender oil is not meant to be used internally. Please consult with your doctor or physician if you are not sure if you are allergic to it and these statements have not been approved by the FDA and is not used to treat cure or prevent any disease.

We have lavender tea and we have loose lavender by frontier co-op. We also carry it by our local vendor and employee owner of ROSS HERBS.

We've already seen a spike in Vitamin D3 requests since we hit Fall. Some take to prevent Seasonal Affective Disorder during the winter, some take to supplement lack of sunshine in general, some for bone health, some for immune health, etc. Vitamin D, everyone seems to agree, is essential for overall wellbeing in many ways.

And Vitamin K, both K1 and K2, are equally essential. For the purposes of this post, we will focus on the K2 form, as this form works closely with Vitamin D levels to help regulate calcium metabolism and absorption, directing calcium to bones and teeth where we want it, and directing it away from arteries and other areas we don't want it. You can think of Vitamin D as the initial absorption supporter and Vitamin K2 as the control officer telling it where to go. Those who are concerned with bone density issues long-term might consider switching to a Vitamin D3 and K2 Complex this winter, versus just plain D.

(*Vitamin K can affect clotting, so those on blood thinners need to take that into consideration when discussing supplement regimens with their practitioners. This post is for educational purposes only, and is not medical advice.)

NEW, here at Ojibwa, Potassium Glycinate Capsules.

Wanted a different pill version than Citrate or Gluconate? Potassium Glycinate is bound to glycine amino acid, and can be ideal for sensitive individuals who experience stomach upset with citrate or chloride (the electrolyte form). Also may be more ideal than the gluconate form for persons with sugar regulation in mind, as potassium bound to gluconic acid (gluconate) metabolizes into partial glucose when it breaks down.
