Good morning Bonanza and surrounding areas π Next year the Bonanza Farmers Market will be a free market. The last year our old market manager had us raise booth fees from 10$ in 2024 to $15 per day this year with an app fee of $5. Which is still cheaper than any other market or event other than Merrill and other NONI events which have been free.
However due to the amount of vendors who can't afford a $15 booth fee per day due to the horrible economy and lack of jobs. Next year we will be going back to a free market π
That being said we have to do more fund raising to pay for insurance since vendors cant afford to pay the $15 fee, or $10 booth fee. Willow Fenimore Reynolds has been paying for additional expenses from her own pocket, and from her personal income since the market has started until we obtained additional grant funding in 2025. However due to Trump denying these funds FMF can NOT pay any additional funding for 2027 outside of the double up food bucks program.
We look forward to all of our new vendors joining us, and returning vendors for the 2027 season! Even if Willow has to pay for additional expenses via her own income that is fine she's been doing it from the start. Willow does not even get paid via the Nonprofit or Farmers Market, and has consistently donated %20 of her personal income to float these events for our community.
While this is a burden on her family, and herself she only wishes to help bring fun, and help those who want a better life obtain that here within our great state! Thank you all for being apart of the Bonanza Farmers Market & other NONI Nonprofit events π
Also thank you to those who have donated to help cover costs this year! We really appreciate it even if it's $5 - $50 we have still greatly appreciated being able to buy the supplies needed to host markets & events π
