Our Story
It all began in 1974 when our father, Mark (in the center of the photo above) decided to pursue his dream of being a full time, self employed farmer. He started with the help of his father (Harland), a few acres of land, a small tractor and a handful of pigs. With an ever changing market, times were tough, but with hard work and dedication to the dream, Father and Son Farms continued to grow. Fast forward 40+ years and we at Father and Son Farms are blessed to have 2 hog farms, 1,000+ acres of corn, soybeans, and wheat, and a variety of seasonal fruits and vegetables.
As the family grew, we decided that it was time to look into other avenues of growth for Father and Son Farms, which gave birth to the idea of Red Barn Market. A business that would focus on providing the community with locally grown fruits, vegetables, pork, and beef not only from Father and Son Farms, but also other local farmers. This helps us to uphold the highest quality, while staying competitive in today's market.
