We added one more hen to the flock - an Olive Egger - so that we officially have end laying eggs of all colors once she gets a bit older.

For now, she’s busy cuddling with our youngest and making BFFs with the older chickens in the flock!

Eggs are sold out through Wednesday, but we should have more available at the egg-stand on Thursday!

Also - yes, I winterized the coop with Grice & Whiting signs. I like to think it brought us some good luck - congrats to David Whiting on being named the replacement school board member earlier today!

The “dirty eggs” (all of our eggs are unwashed, but these are extra muddy thanks to the lovely Ohio weather lately) are pay what you want.

That can absolutely be $0.

It has been the LONGEST of Winters, but we seem to officially have eggs on a regular basis again - so I hereby declare the Hollingsworth Homestead eggstand to be open for the season!

We are up to 21 chickens - 19 of those being beautiful egg laying hens, so we now have a fun variety of colors and far more eggs than we could every personally need; so expect there to usually be eggs in stock!

I'm putting "super dirty" eggs on 'clearance' - this weather has made for some messy eggs... 18 eggs, pay what you want while supply lasts. Regular packs of a dozen eggs remain $4/per dozen.

Our spring chicks are FINALLY starting to lay eggs!!! Chandler laid this beautiful little brown egg over the weekend and Phoebe laid our first ever BLUE egg just now!!!

Good timing too, because the older hens’ production is way down due to this heat… we’re going to need some milder temperatures asap!
