As we close another season of the Bessemer Farmers Market, my heart is full of gratitude. While we are closing earlier than scheduled, this decision allows us the opportunity to regroup, refocus, and come back stronger for our community.
Thank you to the City of Bessemer, the incredible team at the Kenneth E. Gulley Recreation Center, our dedicated vendors, community partners, volunteers, and every citizen who stopped by to shop, support, encourage, and believe in our vision. Every purchase, every conversation, every share on social media, and every smile helped make this season meaningful.
This is not goodbye—it’s simply a pause as we take time to evaluate, reimagine, and strengthen the market so we can better serve you. Our goal has always been bigger than a weekly market. It’s about creating a place where local farmers, small businesses, families, and neighbors can connect and thrive together.
Thank you for growing with us. Thank you for believing in local. Thank you for believing in Bessemer.
We will be back—stronger, better, and ready to serve our community in an even greater way.
Until next season… keep supporting local, keep believing in our city, and keep planting seeds of hope.
💚 With sincere appreciation,
Alisha Ruffin Brown
