We don’t ever discuss anything political, so this will be a different post for us. We are proud Independents here at Ancestor Farms, and keep an open mind.

However yesterday needs to be addressed. We were harvesting peacefully in our garden when a running local politician pulled in hot and got argumentative when we asked about what the Democratic Party plans to do about the homeless encampment by the river behind our farm. It’s been nothing but danger down there for almost a year (one Good Samaritan family even got attacked with hammers) and has kept those public rail trails inaccessible now, and I know lots of citizens who enjoy utilizing those trails, especially in winter for cross country skiing. Matt Townsend’s answer was, and I quote: “What would we do with them?”.

Is that the type of person you want to lead our district here in Benton & Fairfield? We will be voting for Shawn Dixon for Maine House after that encounter. If any of y’all feel the same way, please comment that you support Shawn Dixon and we’ll enter you into a raffle to win a beautiful dried flower arrangement by this Fri Oct 16th!

September so far 🌼 We've begun drying the whole garden, and honestly this is one of our favorite times. With the cooler temps & gorgeous sunny days, it's easy to melt into the magical surroundings!
This month has been exciting, from winning the Blue Ribbon & Best of Show at the Clinton Fair, to supplying flowers for The Robin's Nest & The Belle of Belgrade at Waterville's First Friday. And a huge thanks to RS Fable Photography for some of these killer images!

Our Flower Stand is still going strong and open daily! And U-Picks are still available!

Y’all, Riley is such a fantastic photographer. She really captures magical & beautiful lighting and creates such a vibe with her art. We’ve been very fortunate to have her on our farm, and if you’re looking for a local photographer we couldn’t recommend her enough!!!
