Chicken of the week: Daryl

Daryl (named after The Walking Dead) is one of my easiest for me to pick up. She often hangs out with the younger chickens and sleeps next to them at night usually. She also lays her egg while she sleeps/at night so it just falls under wherever she sleeps 🙃

Chicken of the week: Izzy! Izzy is a Black Australorp from TSC. Sold as a straight run (unsexed) i took my chances on her 🙂 I got lucky and she is, in fact, a gal! She’s the biggest of my hens and I thought she was going to turn out to be a rooster for the longest time 😂 while she’s the biggest, she was the last of my OG gals to start laying! And just within recent weeks as well. Her egg is also quite smaller than I figured it’d be, but a pretty light brown shell 🙂

Open today! So much easier to get done on weekends I don’t work 😁 we actually have eggs available today and I brought the stickers back out! :)

Our home got hit with the resurgence of COVID going around. We will not be putting up the farm stand this weekend as we rest and focus on getting better. Stay healthy out there ❤️
