Did you hear? The USDA has updated its Plant Hardiness Zone Map for the first time in more than 10 years. And its new map could change which flowers, fruits, and vegetables you grow. The 2023 map shows that half of the country has shifted to warmer zones over the last decade, which means many gardeners may be able to grow plants that would not previously survive in their part of the country. Read more about the new map (and how to download a copy for yourself!) at https://seedsavers.org/usda-releases-new-plant-hardiness-zone-map/.

Today was a long hard day on the farm. Today we went from having 27 animals down to 10. Today the rest of our piglets and 3 sows went to their new homes. The sheep went to their new home with Ivy Page and her family. And Coraline and Edward went to their forever home with Robert and Wendy. I have no doubt that they will show our animals lots of love and attention. Which makes the parting a little easier. They are also close enough where we can go visit and see how they are doing. Ivy is going to be teaching me how to clean wool, card it, spin it and turn it into yarn and then knit. So I will still be able to see my sheep and have them be a part of our lives. Plus we get to have 3 lambs in the spring. We cried when Coraline and Edward left and felt so bad for Jack and Sally who were clearly distraught. My heart just keeps breaking over and over. We are exhausted.πŸ’”πŸ’”πŸ’”
