Healthy Harvest Farm is owned and operated by Dave Sandy and Sara Eckert. Together we have over 10 years of experience growing vegetables for families in Central Pennsylvania. The Musser Family in Bellefonte is currently leasing us 13 acres next to the Musser Farm Market. We grow enough vegetables to feed 120 members in the Summer/Fall and 40 members in the Winter/Spring. Producing top quality veg

We absolutely love these Corinto cucumbers. They are on a whole other level when you grow them in a hoop house. We like to train them to grow vertically on a trellis, keeping their fruits off the dirt and nice and clean. Oh yeah, and a copious amount of frost cover to protect them from tonight's "freeze warning". ⚠️ 🥶 ⚠️

My awesome brother Steve created this graphic to remind everyone that today is distribution day for our winter CSA share in Bellefonte. We just hired him as the head of our marketing department, so congratulate him on his new position!!! He used a photo of ours and had the graphic created in the "Scooby Doo" format. When I asked him which one of us is Shaggy and which one of us is Scooby he said "I will let YOU tell Sara which one she is!" 😂😂

Our vegetables are working undercover, but it seems clear to me that the evidence was planted. 🕵️‍♂️ 🕶️ We got our first planting of the season in the ground and covered with row cover for frost and bug protection! Hip hip hooray! We are trying out the tarping game this year. The black tarps warm up the ground and get weeds to germinate. Then the germinated weeds die under the tarp from lack of sunlight. After the weeds die, we roll back the tarp and plant into the soil. One of the side benefits we noticed is that the tarps keep the ground moist during the hot summer months. Our summer planted broccoli and cabbage crops did much better in the tarped moist ground versus the hot dry non tarped ground, even with ample irrigation. It has been a game changer, even though it's a young person's game. Those tarps are heavy to move around!!!
