Our Executive Director, Darlene Adams Rowland, and Deputy Director, Lisa Gray, had the honor of attending the 4th General Assembly of the World Farmers Markets Coalition in Nairobi, Kenya!
Darlene and Lisa were among representatives from just eight U.S. cities at this international gathering, joining passionate leaders from around the world who share a commitment to strengthening farmers markets and the communities they serve.
Thank you to the Nairobi Farmers Market for hosting this inspiring gathering and bringing together people who believe in the power of farmers markets to create vibrant public spaces, support local farmers and food producers, strengthen communities, and promote environmental sustainability.
It is a powerful reminder that while every farmers market reflects the unique character of its community, we share a common purpose: building a more sustainable and resilient food system that supports the people who grow our food and the places we call home.
We are proud to bring this global perspective back to Baton Rouge and the Red Stick Farmers Market community as we continue working to support our farmers, connect our community with fresh, local food, and grow a stronger local food system. 💚
