...and now goats down by the lake. You never know what a day at the BGS will bring!

... and this is why we pay extra for "bear proof" dumpster lids.

A huge thank you to Four Seasons Sotheby's International Realty, Upper Valley Division, for sponsoring an Aldo's Classroom Economy kit at Sharon Elementary School.

Because of their generosity, Mrs. Davis's students get to do something most kids never do in school: run a real economy. They will earn paychecks, pay rent, make spending choices, and feel what it actually means to manage money, all before they ever swipe a card in real life.

I have spent more than a decade behind the counter at our general store watching kids count out change and freeze. Aldo's Allowance Academy is my answer to that. Watching a local business step up to put these skills in front of students this young means everything.

Thank you, Four Seasons Sotheby's, for believing this matters. 🦉

My heart is bursting with excitement. Today, I dropped off my first Aldo's Allowance Academy: Classroom Economy kit at Barnard Academy. Mrs. Hewitt's 3/4 grade class will be running the economy in the fall.

When I first came up with this idea, I was so nervous about how teachers were going to respond to it. After posting on my town's listserv asking for teachers to review the curriculum and provide honest feedback, Jenny kindly responded that she would be interested. After sending over the digital version, she asked to meet with me at my general store.

She told me she was really impressed by it and was eager to run the economy in her classroom in the fall. She was the first teacher to sign up and I am so grateful.

I have more teachers to drop off kits to next week and a growing list of teachers who are interested. Word is really spreading and I couldn't be more excited.

I am so passionate about getting this into as many schools as possible. I truly believe it can make a difference for the next generation.

If you know a 4-6 grade teacher who may be interested, please spread the word. We are also looking for more businesses who are interested in sponsoring a classroom.

First order of the day at 7am sharp: 11 pancakes. Somehow dense and fluffy at the same time. I had to weigh these bad boys once I picked up the boxes... Almost 6 lbs! Best pancakes in the state. Have you tried them yet?

Heads up! We will be prepping all morning for Mother's Day Tea Service on Sunday, so there will only be grab and go options available for breakfast. We will have made-to-order lunch available (however our dining room will be filled with Moms and little princess until 2pm, so seating will not be available). Calling ahead for lunch is greatly appreciated tomorrow (802-234-9688). Thank you for your understanding.

Mother's Day Tea is sold out! Thank you to all who bought a ticket. We can't wait to see you there!

Search for an allowance system that isn't just a chore chart with stickers. Search for a classroom economy that isn't built on fines and behavior bucks. Search for a kids' business guide that treats them like actual entrepreneurs and not a lemonade stand cliche.

You won't find it. That's why I built it.

Honored to be in the White River Valley Herald this week.

If you're a parent who knows how important it is to raise money-smart kids, but you're tired of apps, charts, and gimmicks that fizzle out by week two, you're going to want to see this.

If you're a 4-6 teacher looking for an outside-the-box way to teach financial tools that actually stick, the kind of lessons your students will still be talking about in middle school, this was built for you.
