How To Do A Castor Oil Pack in Just 7 Easy Steps:
Many naturopaths recommend utilizing a castor oil pack which consists of flannel and cold-pressed, hexane free organic castor oil from a glass bottle. If your material is not prewashed, many practitioners believe it helps to enhance the purity of the castor oil pack.
1. Soak -Saturate the cotton flannel with castor oil.
2. Cover -Put a plastic bag on top of the flannel. This helps to keep the oil in the flannel and not all over your bedding or couch. Pre-cut packs have a cover on them.
3. Secure -Use an old towel that you don’t mind getting soiled with oil. Again the pre-cut packs have a covering on them.
4. Pre-Heat -Apply heat to the pack with a heating pad or hair dryer.
5. Duration -Some providers recommend leaving it on the body for 1 hour, two sessions per week.
6. Clean Up -Castor oil is a very thick oil. A little known trick for clean up is a combination of baking soda and warm water: Two tablespoons of baking soda to one cup of water.
7. Storage- A castor oil pack can be reused. Put it in a clean airtight container. With each use, just add a little more castor oil to the flannel to saturate it.
Please consult a qualified health practitioner for specific recommendations for health issues. Here at the Natural Living Center, we carry all of the items listed above to make your own castor oil pack!

Since it's becoming that time of the year again we thought we'd re-share a helpful post we made about Lyme Disease.

Since it's becoming that time of the year again we thought we'd re-share a helpful post we made about Lyme Disease.

We’ve expanded what we offer for those who have Lyme disease. Our Green Dragon Botanicals product line features herbal tinctures and customized protocols designed to treat various Lyme co-infections including Japanese Knotweed, Cryptolepis, and Andrographis. The founder of Green Dragon Botanicals, Timothy Scott, was an intern of the renowned herbalist: Stephen Harrod Buhner. We also have Stephen Harrod Buhner's books available to purchase.

For topical Lyme Disease prevention, we carry a variety of tick repellant sprays that are safe and effective for people and also for their pets. We also have tick removal tools available. For dogs following a tick bite, homeopathic treatment for lyme disease may consist of: Ledum 1M 1 pellet 3 times a day for 3 days.

The homeopathic remedy, Ledum, serves a prophylactic purpose if taken immediately following a tick bite. If a person has tested positive for one or more Lyme co-infections, we have expanded our homeopathic options that may help to relieve Lyme disease symptoms. These include Borrelia Burg. 200c, Aurum Arsenicum 200c, and Lymesode by Synergy Formulas. For more information about the Ledum prophylactic protocol, please visit the link at the bottom of this post.

In the Medical News Today article, Lyme Disease Treatment, there are two herbal compounds that may beat antibiotics. The researchers note that the ones with the highest antibacterial activity directed against B. burgdorferi were Ghanaian quinine and Japanese knotweed. We have in stock both Japanese Knotweed and Cryptolepis (Ghanaian Quinine). We also have Teasel in stock which may help with the joint and nerve pain symptoms associated with Lyme.

All Lyme protocols are rendered more effective by including a biofilm disruptor. Biofilms are like armor that Lyme spirochete bacteria like to wear to hide from our immune system. In regard to breaking up Lyme bacteria biofilms, we have Serrapeptase (an enzyme that may help to break up biofilms), Stevia, and Propolis. Please consult a qualified healthcare practitioner for specific health guidance.
