Today I'm highlighting Side Project Jerky., one of the beef jerky lines we’re excited to carry. Side Project Jerky is a beef jerky company that takes a familiar snack and turns it into something bold, creative, and unforgettable.

Hi Farm Friends! 💛

🚜 Touch A Truck is coming to Ballston Spa! 🚒🚑 Only $5 for the whole family!

This Saturday, June 6th, the Ballston Spa High School Sophomore Class of 2028 is hosting a fun Touch A Truck event at Gordon Creek Elementary School from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

Families can stop by to see firetrucks, ambulances, tow trucks, sports cars, and even our Willow-Marsh Farm tractor! We’ll have the tractor parked there for kids to check out and take pictures with. 📸 Farmer Chuck will be there to talk anything farm with you and your kiddos!

There will also be food vendors for the whole family to enjoy! Think KONA ICE, Ribbon Cafe, Kettle Korn & More!

It’s a wonderful chance for kids to explore, learn, and enjoy a community event while supporting the Class of 2028! Entry is $5 per family. Pictures are free!

Hi Farm Friends! 💛 It's Ag Fact Friday!

Why Cattle Need Mineral Blocks 🐄🌿

Out on pasture, cattle are doing what they naturally do best: grazing, wandering, choosing, and nibbling their way through the day.

But grass and hay do not always provide every mineral cattle need in the right amount, so many farms offer **mineral blocks** as a simple way to support herd health.

Mineral blocks are solid blocks made with essential minerals such as calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, and important trace elements like zinc, copper, and selenium. Many also include salt, which makes them more appealing to cattle.

The nice thing about mineral blocks is that cattle can access them freely. Instead of each animal needing to be fed minerals individually, the block allows them to lick what they need as part of their normal routine.

They can also be placed in certain grazing areas to help gently encourage cattle to move around the pasture. That helps support more natural grazing behavior and can keep the herd from always hanging out in one favorite spot.

It is one more small piece of daily care that often goes unnoticed, but those little details matter. Healthy cattle need more than grass, hay, and water. They need balance. 🌾

Hi Farm Friends! 💛

School is almost over, and summer will be here before we know it! Soon the kids will be running around, swimming, playing outside, and hopefully burning off plenty of energy in the sunshine instead of spending too much time on electronics.

All that summer fun needs good fuel, and healthy snacks are a great way to keep everyone going.

A few simple summer snack ideas include peaches, apples, berries, grapes, crunchy carrots, cucumbers, peanut butter-filled celery with raisins, apple slices with peanut butter, yogurt, hard-boiled eggs, smoothies, whole grain crackers with cheese, and homemade trail mix.

We also carry plenty of easy grab-and-go options right here in the farm store, including many kinds of cheese, chocolate date bars and peanut butter crispies, gummy fruit bites, peanuts, and low-sugar plant protein bars. These are great to keep on hand for summer outings, busy afternoons, road trips, pool bags, and those “I’m hungry” moments that appear out of thin air the second school ends. ☀️

Healthy snacks don’t have to be complicated. Sometimes the best ones are simple, real foods that keep kids full, happy, and ready for the next backyard adventure.

Hi Farm Friends! 💛 It's What in the World Wednesday?

Well, Farm Friends… Chuck and I took a little road trip Tuesday morning, and we have a sweet surprise coming your way.

We went to meet Adrienne and Joe, the owners of NibblexNosh in Scotia, and we are so excited to share that Willow-Marsh Farm Store will soon be carrying some of their delicious goodies in the store!

NibblexNosh is known for scratch-made desserts with big flavors, creative twists, and treats that are anything but boring. Basically, the kind of goodies that make you take one bite and immediately start planning your next one.

Before they officially arrive later this month, we thought it would be fun to give our community a little sneak peek. (TASTE).

Stop in today - Wednesday & Thursday, or until they’re gone, for tastings of some of the treats we’ll be carrying. Sorry, the bacon cheddar scone is long gone. OMG

Hi Farm Friends! 💛 It's Tuesday Transformation!

If you’ve been following along, you’ve seen the store go through several glow-ups as we continue adding new local products and expanding our selection of clean, thoughtfully made foods.

One of my favorite parts of shaping the store has been finding local antiques and giving them a new life here, whether that means cleaning them up, staining them, painting them, or simply letting their character shine just as they are. We’ve also been blessed with a couple of beautiful pieces donated by thoughtful neighbors for us to use as displays.

A few months ago, I came across a gem that I instantly felt belonged here. So, one dark winter evening, Chuck and I bundled up and headed out on a little adventure to bring it home. 💛

Now this beautiful piece has a new purpose in the farm store, holding some of the wonderful small batch favorites our customers love. We moved our Terrapin Ridge Farms line, Morning Pine Acres products, Angel Wings BBQ Sauce, Saratoga Peanut Butter, and a fresh selection of kitchen hand and dish towels into this cozy new display area.

It feels like the perfect mix of old and new: a piece with history, filled with products made by hardworking people who put care into what they create. Stop in and take a peek next time you’re here. Little by little, the store keeps becoming more of what we’ve imagined. 💛
