🍑 Fredericksburg Peach Season Has Arrived at Acht Kinder Farm Co-Op and Acht Kinder Farm Pantry!🍑

Today at Lakeline Farmers Market at Lakeline Mall (9 AM–1 PM), we have the first Fredericksburg peaches of the season from our farm partners, the Davis Family in Fredericksburg — and this week’s variety is the June Prince Peach.

If you’ve never had a June Prince peach before, here’s what makes them special:

➡️ The peach on the RIGHT is how they are today at the market — firm, juicy, and nicely balanced with a sweet-tart flavor. These are wonderful for fresh eating, slicing into desserts, baking, or adding to yogurt and ice cream.

➡️ The peach on the LEFT is the same peach after sitting on the counter for about 4 days (we like to place ours in a zip bag on the counter to help them soften faster). As they soften, they become much sweeter, juicier, and softer, while still keeping a little of that classic peach brightness.

One of the fun things about Fredericksburg peach season is that every variety tastes a little different. Early season peaches like June Prince tend to be a bit firmer and more sweet-tart, while peaches naturally become sweeter and softer as the season progresses into late July.

Lakeline Farmers Market has officially moved to a new parking lot location at the same mall.

🌿 Fresh Asparagus + A Simple Way to Use It This Weekend 🌿

We’re bringing in a small batch of fresh asparagus this weekend—just enough for those who come early and know what to do with it.

To make it easy, we’ll have free recipe cards at the booth for a Shaved Asparagus Frittata—one of those simple dishes that turns a few good ingredients into something you’ll want to make again.

🍳 What you’ll need (all at the market):

✨ Fresh asparagus
🥓 Bacon or prosciutto
🧀 Goat cheese or your favorite cheese
🥚 Farm-fresh eggs (and bacon from Amber Oaks Ranch)

It comes together quickly and works for brunch, lunch, or a simple dinner.

Do you know the proper way to store asparagus?

There’s a simple way to keep your asparagus fresh longer 🌿

If it’s going soft in your fridge, it’s not the asparagus—it’s the storage.

The right way:
Give the ends a quick trim, stand it in a glass with a little water, and loosely cover the tops with a bag. Keep it in the fridge like that and you’ll have crisp, tender asparagus for days—not just one meal.

It’s a small habit, but it changes how your produce holds up through the week.

We have fresh asparagus at the booth today if you’re stocking up.
