Gottenborg Apple Orchard Our 7,000 tree orchard specializes in unique varieties developed by the University of Minnesota. If apples are not the only thing you are after, pumpkins.

Gottenborg Apple Orchard is a family-owned orchard located conveniently off of US Highway 10, Audubon, MN. At our Apple Stand, we provide fresh pre-picked apples in a wide variety that are ready for purchase. Apple variety include: Zester, Sweet Sixteen, Sweet Tango, Honey Crisp, Chesnut Crab, Red Max, Harlason, and Snowsweet. We take special pride in delivering apples picked at their peak ripenes

s and take measures to ensure their quality. We also offer orchard fresh pies, apple crisp, a variety of jellies, carmel dipping, and special family recipes such as apple raisin cupcakes. potatoes and onions have made their way to the orchard along with the option of ready for purchase.

We're adding some Honey Crisp, Sweetango and First Kiss.

I'm under extreme pressure to keep Amanda, LadyBug Acres' Veggie Barn and Hildebrant Farms, in West Fargo, with apples.

Our Orchard, in Audubon will be open Saturday, November 1, from 9 to 5 pm.

What's left? Haralson and SweeTango.

Our apples can be found at Hildebrant's Farm, on Main Avenue, In West Fargo through Saturday, November 1 and LadyBug Acres' Veggie Barn, on University Drive, in Fargo through Friday, October 31.

Our orchard in Audubon is open Saturday and Sunday, from 9-5 pm. There'll be three varieties such as Sweetango, Snowsweet and Haralson. We are still baking pies and cookies.

These apples are ideal for cold storage. Place the apples in a large zip lock bag with a wet paper towel. Just rewet the paper towel weekly and your apples will last a long time, especially Sweetango.

If you're interested in a larger volume of apples, like Haralson. The cost is $32 for a half bushel or $56 for a bushel (40 pounds.) These offers can be found on the Red River Harvest Cooperative Website.

When I visit the Red River Market on Saturday, I'll bring Sweetango, Snowsweet and some last season varieties like, Haralson, Liberty and a box of Honeygold. This might be your best chance to try Triumph. Triumph is an open variety (available to the public) that is a marriage between a Liberty and Honeycrisp.

The orchard in Audubon will be open Saturday and Sunday, from 9-5pm. There are still some low hanging apples on trees for those that want to pick your own.

Sunday is the deadline for our late season variety box that includes Honeycrisp, Snowsweet, Sweet Sixteen, McInstosh and enough Haralson's for a pie or crisp. Cost is $25.

This will be the last weekend for Pick Your Own at the orchard, in Audubon.
Varieties available include Haralson, Snowsweet and Redmax (a relative of the MacIntosh apple.) There are some low hanging Sweetango and Honeycrisp, but you'll need to look around. In other words, anything hanging on the trees is open to picking.

In spite of U-pick shutting down after this weekend, the orchard stand will remain open throughout October. We have your plenty of your favorite varieties in cold storage.

At the downtown Red River Market, I'll bring Honeycrisp, Sweetango and Snowsweet, for the first time. I've been waiting for colder night before picking these late season varieties.

After an afternoon of picking Honeycrisp on Tuesday, I took this picture. The bagged apples (Honeycrisp) went to Renae @ Juice Box, in West Fargo. The Honeycrisp along with some Sweet Sixteen will make a great tasting juice. I promise.

When I visit the Red River Market on Saturday, I'm bringing some choice SweeTango's from 4-year-old trees. Unlike my first orchard on the west side of the creek, these rows were aligned south-southeast to capture the sun throughout the day. The coloring on these apples is spectacular.
In addition, I'll bring Honeycrisp and Sweet Sixteen.

We have enough apples to last through the 25th (last day of market) and remain open on weekends through October, in Audubon.
To provide apples of this quality, without pesticides is remarkable.

There are some hidden, low hanging SweeTango's and Haralson's in the orchard for those looking to pick your own.

U-pick will be open the next two weekends. I anticipate Snowsweet to be ready a week from now.

Now's your chance to get to know some of the mid-season apple varieties such as Sweet Sixteen, Chestnut Crab and Honeycrisp.

Sweet Sixteen is naturally sweet and characterized by its unique cherry candy notes when tasting.
When I visit the Red River Market, on Saturday, I'll bring Sweet Sixteen, Honeycrisp and SweeTango.

At the orchard, pick your own Sweet Sixteen, Haralson and SweeTango. Prepicked Honeycrisp, SweeTango, Sweet Sixteen, First Kiss and Haralson are available in the orchard stand.

Saturday, at the Red River Market, I'll bring Sweetango, Honeycrisp and a couple boxes of Zestar.
Rain or shine, our event at the orchard will endure. The weather looks like it will cooperate so please plan to attend.

I've attached a picture of the apple, Kudos (2-year-old tree). It's one of the apples featured in my Premium Variety Apple Box. Of interest, the same parents as the SweeTango but a completely different taste. Think tropical fruit.

At the downtown market in Fargo, I'll bring SweeTango, First Kiss and Zestar.
At the orchard, in Audubon, U-pick: SweeTango or Zestar. If I haven't mentioned, we sell homemade pies with apples from our orchard.

We're about a week away from our Applefest. Two other varieties will be available that day for U-pick: Haralson and Sweet Sixteen (cherry-like taste). We'll have prepicked Honeycrisp available for purchase. Altogether, there'll be 6 varieties to choose from.
