Oh my, my, my!! Now THIS is most definitely a throwback. I still do love a good homemade sign– Have you seen our shop’s OPEN sign??? No neons for me! Man, Oh! Man, Oh! Man, I’m so glad that cute, young girl in 2015 had no idea how bumpy her road would be for the next decade. Good thing she grew up on gravel roads in Mississippi and was used to lots of potholes. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

In 2015, Athens Farmers Markets were held on the basketball courts at Bishop Park because there were only about 10-15 vendors each week. Journey Juice was open SEVEN days a week and attended EVERY. SINGLE. MARKET. (Honey, I’m tired just typing that.) 😅🥱

Fast forward to 2026, Athens Farmers Markets are held under (and outside of) the Pavilion at Bishop Park because we have up to 40-50 vendors at each Saturday market. AMAZING!! Journey Juice is STILL open seven days a week and attends the market the first Saturday of each month.

These throwbacks this month make me feel like a Virginia Slim. Honey, honey, HONEY!!

Juice Fam, We’ve come a looooooong way, baby!! Thank you for keeping this JUICY dream alive! I appreciate you all so dearly!

Be Delusional

THIS, I have been consistent– from the beginning in 2015 until now. You have to be delusional in the world of small business. You have to CELERY-brate every small win and BE UPBEET in the biggest battle. You have to believe that you have the ability to make it work no matter what challenge presents itself. You have to believe that regardless of what happens, it will all work out just like it needs to in the end. You don’t have to be special or talented or better than anyone else. You just have to believe with every fiber of your being that you’re capable of making it work, figuring it out and being successful. You have to be delusional. And lucky for you, Juice Fam, ya girl wears DELUSIONAL well. 💁‍♀️🎉

Turmeric acts as a powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant agent in the body. It helps reduce chronic inflammation, eases joint pain, improves heart health and supports digestion. Turmeric is widely used for chronic conditions, including arthritis and metabolic syndrome. I like to take Journey Juice’s Just Turmeric and pour it in an extra ice tray and then pop out a cube when ready and pair it with a little hot water, lemon, coconut oil and black pepper. Look at Journey Juice THEN and NOW! Holy cow! The juice corner has definitely improved in its appearance over the last ten years. I remember when I had the building painted orange and green, the painters kept asking if I was sure those were the colors I wanted 😅. One of the painters said, “With those colors, you should be serving tacos and tequila!” 🤣🤣

Then and now, those petunias growing through the asphalt are a poignant reminder of how simultaneously difficult and fulfilling running a small business can be. Thank you, Journey Juice Fam for supporting the juiciest corner in Athens. I will continue to push like a daisy through old sidewalk cracks. *cue Lainey 🌷🌷🌷

Wow!! Seven years between these two pictures. SO much has changed; yet, so much has not. One of my sweet customers gifted me the tank top in the picture from 2019. Honestly, I still feel like an Iron (wo)Man: unloading all the produce each morning, squeezing all the juice each day, washing all the dishes every day, mopping all the floors and making sure everything is running at 💯‼️

Am I tired?? YES!

Am I grateful?? YES!!

Am I ready to do it again tomorrow?? YES, YES, YES!!!

Watermelon Fresca is the number one selling juice at Journey Juice during the summer. Our SEEDED watermelons make the sweetest tasting, most refreshing juice. Like all of the cold-pressed juices at Journey Juice, we do not add any water or sugar to our watermelon juice. We just add a splash of fresh squeezed lemon juice which acts as a natural preservative. Watermelons contain twice the potassium of a banana but only half the sugar. Cold-pressed watermelon juice performed better than gatorade in tests on athletes’ recovery after workouts. Watermelons contain a healthy dose of Citrulline, which converts to L-arginine once digested, then to Nitric Oxide. Nitric Oxide is a vasodilator which means it is great for your cardiovascular system. So many good reasons to drink Watermelon Fresca! 🍉🍉🍉🍉

Hi ya! To those of you who may be new to Journey Juice, welcome!! And to those of you who have been loyal fans over the last decade, THANK YOU!! I appreciate your support of my little juice corner. Every day I am so grateful to have the opportunity to juice for you– whether it’s your first time trying Journey Juice or if you are a juicy regular. Juicing is not a pretty job and it’s definitely not easy but at least it’s NEVER boring. Every purchase you make, every smile you give, every compliment you share encourages me to KEEP SQUEEZING THE DAY! Have you tried our homemade Chocolate Almond Milk?? It’s not actually milk (or dairy) by the way. Almond “milk” just sounds more appropriate than nut juice. LOL. Our Journey Juice almond milk is made with sprouted almonds, real vanilla bean (not extract), Himalayan sea salt, dates and Georgia Spring Water. Chocolate Almond Milk is our almond milk with a teaspoon of raw cacao powder. It is Decadent and Delicious!! Treat yourself and grab one of these this week. 🥛🤎🍫
