With so many new followers and new faces every market, I realized I have never made a formal introduction.

We are the Pennington Family!! There is me (Kari) and my husband Johnathan, and our 2 kiddos Noah and Karlee.

A little about us: Johanthan and I have been married 16 years and have been together since we were teenagers. We live in Guysville on our little 26 acre farm where we raise a few cows and chickens and our kids. I wouldn't trade any of it for the world!!

Simply Risen started a few years before anyone had ever heard of it when I went through some health issues. I learned that the best way to support feeling my best was to nourish my body with real food, and that quickly lead me to learn sourdough.

A few years later, after making sourdough for my family quite often, it came to me in a dream that I could turn this into something bigger. I'm so glad I listened to that dream!! 2 years after starting my "little bread business" I'm happy to say it has turned into a family business that all 4 of us play a part in.

We are extremely thankful to all of our customers who choose us to feed your families too!!

We are proud to announce that we have raised $1150.00 during the month of September for the Friends of the Shelter Dogs! This money was raised by the generous donations of our customers as well as our match program. FOSD seeks to assist the shelter dogs of Athens county by finding them homes, coordinating volunteers, and fostering. Thanks to our generous customers for making this possible and for all the work FOSD does!
