There is an $87.5 million settlement involving Tyson and Cargill over allegations that major beef companies conspired to limit beef supply and raise prices. The companies deny wrongdoing, and the settlement does not mean a court found them guilty - but consumers may still be eligible to file a claim.

This applies to people who bought certain fresh or frozen beef products for themselves, family, or friends between August 1, 2014 and December 31, 2019.

When a few giant companies control a huge chunk of the meat supply, both ends can get squeezed - farmers and ranchers may not get paid fairly, while families still pay more at the grocery store.
