Monroe’s 2nd Annual Spooky Market is today from 10AM-2PM. I brought my witch’s apprentice with me. Come see what we’ve brewed up just for you!

Fall has arrived!

That means I am churning out my seasonal jam varieties, including a new one:

Mapled Blueberry Jam! 😋🫐💨🍁

Made with Saxtons Distillery’s Sapling Maple Liquor and pure maple syrup.

My fruit sources for these two yummy maple jam batches include blueberries from my neighbor, Ms. Tansy, and blackberries from Box of Good in Stanwood.

Farmers Market season may be over, but canning season definitely is not!

I processed just over 120lbs of blackberries today. These were picked over the last couple of months around the farm and at The Helwood Farm Stand . I also have blackberries from Box of Good in Stanwood - a distributor of local products and produce - and you will see my jars labeled with where I got my fruit!

It is a lovely day for the LAST Arlington Farmers Market !!!
My shopping is complete with a warm cup of Chai Tea from Gogo’s coffee Co., some goats milk soap from Heart N Soul Farm LLC, and a pair of replacement raindrop earrings from Jude Johnstone - they are my FAVORITE earrings and I lost one 😩 - Jude knocked out a new pair for me ☺️

Not every jam sessions goes smoothly. I attempted to replenish my stock of my husband’s jam and somehow the entire batch turned into foam in the water bath.

Soooo… my screw up is your lucky day! I have nine jars of KC’s Bearded Ginger Jam (Strawberry/Raspberry/Ginger) on sale for $5 each! These jars all sealed, but they aren’t as pretty as they normally are.

Reach out to me here if you’re interested, or come see me at the last regular Arlington Farmers Market a week from today if you want to score a jar of whipped(?) jam! 😅🤦🏻‍♀️

I was a junior at Arlington High School on September 11th, 2001. I was listening to 107.7 The End while I was getting ready for school and heard that a tower in New York had been hit by an airplane. I had never been to New York and it seemed a world away.

By the time I got off the bus and into my first class, the towers had collapsed. I learned a lot that day and New York felt much closer. My life’s trajectory, along with everyone else’s veered off on a completely different path.

I have a notebook at home of every single newspaper clipping I could find. I will share it with my kids when they ask me about that day.

25 years is a long time but almost every moment of that day is seared into my memory.

I’m at the Arlington Farmers Market today from 10AM-2PM. I’ll be gone next weekend and then I will finish out farmers market season here at Legion Park. I’ll be sure to get you my holiday market schedule soon.

I’ve been having some more fun with pies lately. This one is a raspberry vanilla cream pie with sourdough crust. I’ve locally sourced many ingredients, right down to my eggs and milk to make homemade custard and whipped cream.
Jam is versatile beyond PB&Js - I’ve topped this pie with my own Raspberry Vanilla Jam.

If you haven’t stopped in to see Jacqueline’s goodies at The Helwood Farm Stand , you’re missing out!
