Getting ready for next year.

07/07/2018

Due to the early rains and then drought family issues, and time constraints this will be the second year that the garden has failed. Next year i'm changing planting times and trying something different. Sorry for the inconvenience. Hopefully we'll back in business next year. The weather has caused me to reevaluate how I need to plant. We'll still be organic, but when you plant an acre of produce you can't cover it up so planting too early could wipe me out, then the rains come for 2 months and i can't get the tractor in the garden. Again sorry. All I can do is keep at it until I find what works best. I miss working in the garden, it's my peaceful and rejuvenating time. So until next year take care and keep me in your thoughts that my plans work out. After I get the garden straight again, I hope to replace my bees and then the chickens. I make plans but sometimes they don't go your way. Thank ya'll for patience in getting everything back in order.

I do have a garden this year but it's about a month behind due to rain and other delays.

Bees absconded, no honey until hopefully spring of 2018, hoping to be able to get 3 new hives next spring. What I have learned is all those swarms I didn't catch are out there in the 100 acre woods as they robbed my hive,

Although we are now closed until next year we are now "Certified SC..." Not that everything wasn't grown here on Hood's Hill and Hermitage, but now we are state recognized.
