How to save cucumber seeds. This cucumber was hidden and grew past maturity which in turn kills the plant. So now you open it up and simply scoop out the seeds and place into a jar. Cover the seeds with water. Let them ferment to remove the protective film. Let stand 24-48 hrs. The good seeds will fall to the bottom. Pour off liquid until only the seeds remain. Dry on a paper towel or paper plate. You can store in an envelope, any empty container. These seeds are ready to sow in the spring. These are more acclimated to your growing area and conditions, so will do better than the parent seeds they came from. And...They are FREE!!!!!. Seeds are only getting more expensive each season. Saving is really not that hard.
