We rolled the dice this year and put out most of our transplants earlier than normal. If they survive the wind today, and any late frost, we just might have July 4th cantaloupe for the first time ever. If not then it’ll be the normal mid July timeframe. Should be seeding for 2nd planting this week weather permitting. Fingers crossed! 🤠

Ground is rock hard. Not a drop of rain in months. Have to flood the field to loosen the ground to get the old plastic up, and new down.
Seeds are getting started this week for first planting thanks to J and L Plants. GETTING CLOSER To JUNE! 🤠

Welp, its that time of year. Unfortunately not quite enough cantaloupe came ripe to be at Gee’s family farm tonight. This way we’ll have enough for Saturday morning. Hope y’all have a great night and we’ll see you then!

TUESDAY 8/2 Bushland! We will be at the Nesting Place parking lot with local grown, vine ripened cantaloupe, watermelon, HOT jalapeno, a little okra, and Carolina Reaper peppers, if you dare. 4 till dark
Melon season is coming to a close, so get some before they’re gone for good!
