Good morning Sabbaba Followers and Patrons!

As is every day, today is a blessing from Hashem. But today is a very special day to Rachel and myself and our food service company, Sabbaba.

And I would like to share this with all of you!

Two years ago, in May 2024, a husband & wife visited our brand new store concept and had a great experience at Sabbaba. They became steady customers, online ravers, promoters and most of all, dear friends.

Recently, after the Passover Holiday, we began preparing our newest concept; a Kosher NY style deli fused with an Israeli style grill.

This new meat venue would require many changes, including re-designing the logistics involved in serving an increased flow of diners and shoppers.

To accommodate all of the excitement and increased traffic to our store, we knew it was time to expand our work force and seek out a qualified individual to join our team and assist in running the store operations.

As this particular man approached the register to pay for his purchases, a thought came flashing into my head. It was a crazy thought but what could it hurt to ask?

So I asked him if he would consider joining our staff for a few hours a day during our lunch service to accommodate the increased flow of lunch guests. He immediately displayed a great big smile and said, “Joel, I would love nothing more in my life right now, than to help you guys out any way I can”.

I told this retired, independent senior, that I couldn’t pay him what his time with us would be worth - to which he quickly replied, that the wages would not be of any concern to him. We do of course pay him wages because nothing worth having in life is FREE and certainly with Daniel Nieves, he is worth much more than any hourly wage could compensate him for what he brings to Sabbaba, to us and to all of you!

Today, Daniel came to work and presented us with the Kosher certificate seen below. Daniel on his own initiative, registered and completed the ‘Kosher As A Career Course’ offered by KIA Kosher Institute Of America. The course provides foundational kashrus knowledge (kosher laws) for those working in kosher establishments and is not a certification of the individual or the establishment.

What can I say about this incredibly pious act of integrity, exemplifying this man’s diligence and desire to be the best “Kosher knowledgeable” employee one could only hope for.

A Culinary Fusion of the NY Deli and
Mediterranean Grill

Rachel and I have quite different backgrounds and Sabbaba is a reflection of our marriage - the fusion of 2 different cultures and culinary tastes. Rachel whose family is Sephardic, was born and raised in Netanya, Israel. And I am Ashkenazi, born & raised in New York.

This store has been a blessing to Rachel & myself ever since we imagined our concept in 2024. We believed in it and dove in head first.
Today, we are proud to announce that we have 1500 Facebook followers - not thousands yet, but each one of you is very special to us!

We have also earned a perfect 5.0 review rating on Google Maps. Not 1000 yet, but please read the reviews on Google Maps and see for yourself. Every customer review is a 5 Star resulting in a 5.0 rating.

This is Incredible to us! And we will strive to provide the public nothing less, as we enter this exciting new culinary journey.

Back in the 1990’s, Rachel and I owned a deli named Ess N Fress later name changed to Te’Avone Deli, located in Plainview, Long Island, NY. We were much younger then, but haven’t forgotten what we learned and accomplished in our New York deli days!

And here we are today in Altamonte Springs, North Orlando, with our newest culinary venue.

After a long and arduous day koshering
our facility under strict Rabbinical supervision, Sabbaba Deli & Grill is officially a Certified Kosher Meat establishment.

Dairy foods and dishes will no longer be available from this location.

However, all of our sumptuous creations including fish, meat substitutes, vegetarian, vegan and Parve dishes will still be offered in full swing.
In addition, our authentic falafel plates and pita sandwiches, along with our award winning Sabbaba Burgers will also be served daily without interruption.
