We started processing deer as a hobby for some extra money on the side, and the deer business just kept growing for us! In 2000, we put up our retail store and became a Wild Game Meats, Gourmet Meats & Specialty Foods Store. Thanks to our dedicated customers our store continued to grow! Over the years, Country Smoke House turned into a main stop for people going up north or just the everyday or weekly stop to fill the cupboards and their fridge! Our business has grown to a level we never dreamed we'd reach! We are currently the Largest Deer Processor in the state! We are also The Largest for the types of sausage we make! 🎂❤️ TODAY WE GET TO CELEBRATE A PRETTY SPECIAL GUY… STEVE FRANCIS! ❤️🎂

Happy Birthday to the man who has worn just about every hat you can imagine over the years! From being a true jack of all trades to building a family business alongside his wife, Sue, Steve has put his heart, hard work, and countless hours into making Country Smoke House what it is today.

What started as a husband-and-wife dream back in 1988 has grown into something so much bigger, and we couldn’t be more thankful for everything Steve has poured into this business and our family. Through the good times, the tough times, and everything in between, he has never stopped working hard and pushing forward. That’s just who he is! ❤️

So today, we hope he takes a little time to enjoy HIS day! If you’re stopping in, be sure to wish Steve a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY! 🎉🎈

Seven years ago today, we faced one of the hardest days in our business. A devastating fire left us with a major loss, our staff without work, and a long road ahead of us as we began the process of rebuilding.

Looking back, it’s incredible to see how far we’ve come. It certainly wasn’t an easy journey, but through the support of our amazing staff, loyal customers, friends, family, and community, we were able to rebuild and come back stronger.

We are forever grateful for everyone who stood by us during that difficult time and continues to support our family-owned business today. ❤️

As we remember our own fire, our hearts are especially heavy for our friends at Farmers Creamery in Mio, who lost their entire building to a devastating fire yesterday. We know firsthand how overwhelming the road ahead can feel. Our thoughts and prayers are with their entire team, their families, and everyone affected. ❤️🙏
