NUC UPDATE!

We are receiving a high number of calls and emails regarding nuc pick up. The bees are still making their way to Maine but we are on track to start nuc pick up the same date as we had originally planned which is 5/9 for those in our bee classes. After that we will begin working down our list. We will begin calling to schedule pick ups after 5/9 this week. Nuc pick up works based off of when customers placed their orders, meaning those who placed them beginning of January will be the first to receive a call and we will work down our list from there calling based off of your order date. Weather plays a huge factor in how fast we can make the nucs but we will be working every day that the weather allows to get those nucs to our customers. We will give customers several days notice to schedule their pick ups and offer as much flexibility as we can.
If you think you may need to purchase large quantities of equipment during your pick up time please let us know when we call to schedule you so we can pull that ahead of time.
We are looking forward to a busy spring in Maine!

Fire update!! 4/27

We are feeling a sense of relief today as we were able to get all of our hives moved and in a safe location. Fire breaks were dug around the land where thousands of our hives reside every winter so we are hoping it continues to stay out of that area. A semi truck load made it to Albion this morning with another one heading that way tomorrow. We are still evacuated from our camp but the crew was able to get in today to pick up some more equipment and get the remaining bees that were there out as the fire is still burning in that area.

To our nuc customers- we are still on track to start handing out nucs starting around the first week of May. They are looking strong and almost ready to go to their new homes.

Thank you to everyone who offered help and kind word and to the fire fighters and first responders working hard down there to get this under control.

Thousands of hives will head back to Maine early to get out of the fire's path.

No new updates tonight other than our guys are working hard to beat the fire to the bees but apparently so was a bear so that threw a curveball into the day. They are about to load a semi truck to send to Maine and then continue on moving bees.

Fire update!
We have some good news and some bad news. Fortunately, our camp is still intact and we managed to retrieve more equipment before evacuating again. We were able to find a new loading yard (pictured below) that is out of the fires way so we have somewhere to operate out of. Unfortunately, the fire continues to spread rapidly towards the property where most of our beehives are located. Lincoln, Jake, and the team are working tirelessly to relocate the bees and load them onto semi-trucks before the fire reaches them.

Our second home in Hortense, Georgia (Brantley County) has been severely impacted by the forest fire. Fortunately, our camp remains intact, but we were evacuated yesterday afternoon. Lincoln and our beekeepers worked through the night to relocate the bees out of the fire's path, but the situation is escalating rapidly. We're planning to transport bees to Maine as soon as possible to prevent losing any hives and stay on track for nuc sales. Our thoughts are with our neighbors, friends, and all those working tirelessly to combat the fires.
