We are getting going with vendor registration. Now when you go to our website (alamosafarmersmarket.org) and click on the "vendors start here" tab and register as a vendor for 2026. Once you register you will be contacted with more information. Please only register once per booth. We are already having vendors register more than once.

Wednesday, June 10, 6-7:30 pm
Friday, June 12, 5:30 - 7 pm
Saturday, June 13, 10-11:30 am

We are 30% on our way to our support goal!

If you know of a business or community group we should connect with, please let me know. The Alamosa Farmer's Market is funded by vendor fees and grants and right now, its a rough grant landscape.

Pre-season vendor meeting dates are now set. All vendors will need to attend one of these meetings to get all the market updates for the 2026 season. I will be sending out a vendor letter but not vendor packets this season unless requested. We are trying to find ways to save paper.

At this meeting vendors will be walked through the on-line vendor registration process and be provided with any necessary vendor paperwork. I appreciate your continued patience in getting the registration up and running. Both our web manager and myself are working doing our work pro bono so bear with us.

All Vendors should plan on attending one of our 3 vendor meetings this season. They will be held at "The Hub" (516 San Juan, Alamosa) and will help new and returning vendors prepare for our 2026 season.

All meetings will be 90 minutes or less. Vendors need to only attend one of these meetings as the same information will be shared each time.
Wednesday, June 10, 6 to 7:30 pm
Friday, June 12, 5:30 - 7 pm
Saturday, June 13, 10 - 11:30 am
There is an event link for all three meetings on our page.

If you are unable to make one of these meetings, please complete this form and a member of the market staff will follow up with you. https://forms.gle/Xbb6nkT6wxsLZQtg8

You can also find us on the What's up app. We will be communicating with vendors through this app this year to streamline communication. Our number is above.

We are plugging away at getting Vendor registration up and going on our website. Continue being patient. I was hoping it would be ready to launch on Friday, May 15 but it is more likely going to be ready to go next week.

We will still have vendor packets ready to give out but we are encouraging vendors to use this platform so that we can start to create a space to make registration easier each season and to help with communication between staff and vendors quicker.

I will put an update on social media as soon as the site is ready to go.

Also coming soon is our vendor meetings. We will again offer 3 of them and all vendors should plan on attending 1 of them. We will go over changes for the 2026 season and get us all ready for the new year.

I wanted to take a minute to share some things that make the Alamosa Farmers' Market special.

🥕Opened in 1980… over 45 years
🥕Regularly has 60+ vendors
🥕Thousands of visitors attend each season
🥕 2025 sales were $166,000+, a 19% over 2024
🥕$15,000+ in sales for SNAP and Double Up Food Bucks in 2025
🥕All in 15 Saturdays from July through October

This doesn't just happen. It take money and time for a market to continue to grove and thrive. Some of our expenses include
🌶Marketing
🌶Signage and safety materials
🌶Porta-potties
🌶Website and social media
🌶On-site supplies (tents, tables, tape, etc.)
🌶Paying our staff
🌶 Licenses, insurance, and other in tangibles

We have kept vendor fees as low as we could because we were able to make the market work with grant. Now funds are drying up and getting more competitive. So for the first time in my 13 year tenure, we are asking our community to help fill in the gaps.

We have already made significant cuts to the expenses.
🌽Our Director (That's me) has been working for free since October 2025
🌽 We will not be offering live music this season
🌽 Vendors will be paying 5% commission on sales instead of 3%

But we still need your help. Please consider becoming a sponsor for the Alamosa Farmers' Market. We need you to help us keep the market going. We are trying to raise $10,000 by June 12. No amount is too small.

If you want to donate, follow this link. If you want to help but don't want to use square (or pay their fees) you can also send a check or reach out to the information below. We also accept in kind donations. Those are a huge gift to the market! Please help us keep the Farmer's Market going for 2026. Help me give the market a great year for my last season.

Don't take a lack of posting to mean we aren't doing a lot of work to get ready for the 2026 season.

Currently we are updating our vendor materials so they will be ready for May. Fingers crossed that we can do on-line registration this year.

We are preparing to do a sponsorship drive to help fund the market this year. Grants are drying up and we are in urgent need of funds to make this season happen.

We are anticipating a leaner market this year due to the dry conditions and how that might impact our farmers as well as what we have the funds to offer. At this point, we will not be providing live music for much of the season. One local group, Celtin Knots, has volunteered to play to weekends for us at not cost.

But even without live music, the Market will still be offering wonderful vendors selling this amazing goods. So get excited for the Alamosa Farmers' Market.

New seasons begins July 11 and ends October 10 this year! I am bound and determined to make this season a great one since its my last one with the market.

Something that has helped me in my work with the Alamosa Farmers' Market has been attending the Colorado Farmers' Market Association Annual Conference. The conference has taught me how to run a market, create valuable connections, and helps sustain me when the work gets...difficult. The conference is open to those who run farmers' markets, vendors, farmers, and those supportive of local foods and agriculture. If you would like to attend this year, click on the link. It has information about ticket prices and all the pertinent details.

This year's conference is in Fort Collins from February 27- March 1.

I'm happy to answer any questions you might have about it!
