❤️🌟💚 MEET BOB 💚🌟❤️

Hello, my name is Bob! I was born in Akron and am a graduate of Garfield High School. I currently live in Cuyahoga Falls with my wife, Charnell. We will be married for 45 years this August and have 4 children and 8 grandchildren. One of our granddaughters, Ava, also works at DeVitis!

I worked for Orlando Bakery for 30 years as a delivery driver and DeVitis Italian Market was part of my route. I always enjoyed my deliveries to DeVitis, even at Christmas time when they had such big orders! I became good friends with the DeVitis crew and family during my time at Orlando. I retired from there in 2019. A few years later, David DeVitis called me to let me know about the perfect retirement job: making sandwiches and driving for DeVitis! I have been here for 4.5 years doing just that. I really enjoy the great group of people that I get to work with every day. I hope to see you around town or at the store soon!

Today, Italy is celebrating Festa Della Repubblica, or Republic Day! 💚🤍❤️ Every June 2nd they celebrate the day that they abolished their monarchy and became a republic. 🇮🇹 It’s a major national holiday, just like our 4th of July! Italy celebrates with parades, special ceremonies, and with the colors of the Italian flag proudly and extravagantly displayed! ❤️🇮🇹💚 Come on in to find something green, white, and red to commemorate the day! 🇮🇹

It’s National Olive Day 🫒💚🍸 so we thought we’d share some fun facts about these stone fruits…

🫒 Olives have been around for approximately 8,000 years and there are more than 1,000 kinds of olives!

🇮🇹 Italy is the 3rd top global producer of olives and is home to over 500 varieties! California produces over 95% of the olives in the USA.

💛 Olive oil has been used for centuries for cooking, medicinal needs, as fuel for lamps, and even for hair and skin care. It was called “liquid gold” by the Ancient Greeks.

We are very saddened by the sudden passing of our deli crew member, Mark R. We will never forget his kindness, how he was always willing to help, and his love of sports and music. He always told us how much he loved working at DeVitis and he will be greatly missed by all of us. His family is in our thoughts and prayers. 🙏
