Hey gang, The band is having a bit of a quiet gig week,at least for COH standards. The Cat's 4 Piece are heading to Cuyahoga Falls today, Thursday Aug.29. We are returning to the Jenks Building. I am not sure how to even describe this awesome space. It is part book store, coffee shop,outfitters of camping gear,art gallery and of course concert venue. It has a "Barking Spider Vibe". All I can say is that it is one unique experience. They do serve adult beverages and there is no cover charge...and the audience are great listeners and encourage original music. Anyway, Tyler,Paul,Rob and myself will go from 7-9.The boys and I would love to see some familiar faces!
We end the week by heading to the mysterious Lake Erie Rattlesnake Island. It should be a fun gig, although it is quite an ordeal getting there. I will give you a review of our trip in next week's Cat Blast.
Okay, after a quiet week the band and especially me have a crazy schedule for the first week of September. First and foremost, my son and The Cat's favorite bass/guitar man Dillon is getting married. We all love his bride to be Sabrina and those two are so made for each other. Thanks to all the Cat fans who have given wedding wishes to Dillon and Sabrina.
Besides the duo gigs which are listed below, the full 5 piece will be back at Forest City Brewery on Thursday Sept. 5. I think most of you have heard about the tree controversary at FCB. A developer next door to the FCB has cut-down two trees without any concern on how it effected the neighborhood. After much friction, Jay and the gang re-built the stage area and turned it into "Operation Lemonade". Come on down and check it out! We go from 7-10.
Last but not least, I want to mention an incredible event that is coming to Cleveland. My friend "Dr.Awesome", Gary Pearlman is bringing "Bubblefest" to Cleveland. Dr.A is considered to be one of the best bubblers in the world. His feats of blowing bubbles the size of large rooms and enclosing people and objects in bubbles have earned him 12 Guinness Book of World Records. He is going to be with other world famous bubblers from all over the world to create 3 amazing days of events Sept.6,7 & 8. The Cat's will be performing on the Sunday 9/8 "Bubblefest at Wade Oval" 4-6. You can get all the information at facebook Bubblefest 24 or Dr.UR Awesome on facebook as well. the grand finale show will be at Cleveland Heights High School on Sunday evening 9/8. I will give additional information in next week's Cat Blast as well.
