This part- time, 30 hour per week position requires receiving and merchandising inventory, assisting customers, and working with management. Happy Spring, Friends! We wanted to take a moment to thank our amazing local vendors who have kept Bode's well-stocked, especially throughout the past 12 months of the Pandemic: Notable thanks to Sage Bakehouse, Just the Best Produce, Valley Meats, Martinez’s Natural Lamb, Abiquiu Soapworks, Posa’s El Merendero, Aroma Coffee, Fiasco Wine, Wicked Kreations Wine, and Wines of the San Juan. We are fortunate to have these wonderful local businesses supplying Bode’s with quality products. As soon as permissible, we will be opening the porch for customers to eat, have coffee, or use the internet. We are working on ideas for an outdoor food venue and will keep you posted. We are thankful to be part of a community that comes to the aid of neighbors in need, especially during the past year when so many found their lives turned upside down. We thank the Abiquiu Fire Department, Abiquiu’s St Vincent de Paul Society, Luciente, and Las Clinicas del Norte for their enormous contributions for the good of our community. Thank you to the Abiquiu News for keeping us informed every week with blogs, recipes, updates and critical information on COVID. These community based organizations make Abiquiu livable and safe, and they can always use your financial support and participation. Wishing you a very safe, happy, and positive year ahead. The frustrations and heartbreaks of 2020 will hopefully lead us to better things. Life is difficult, but once said and accepted, as M. Scott Peck observed in The Road Less Traveled, we plow ahead.

For Bode's, this year gave us the opportunity to improve our operations, including increased selection in our grocery department, new prepared food selections in our cold and hot cases, doubling our fresh produce selections, and renovating our fueling stations to include new gas pumps and card readers. And, yes, we finally got a new ATM provider and machine that will work reliably for the year ahead.

For all the negatives, this year has brought out the many strengths of our community. Two Abiquiu organizations have particularly shone above all: The Abiquiu Volunteer Fire Department, and non-profit Luciente assisting families impacted by the pandemic by providing food distribution. Bode’s needs kitchen workers! Part-time or full time positions available. Wages are very competitive and pending skill levels negotiable. Our kitchen is open 7 days a week from 6:30am until 4:00pm. It's fall in Abiquiu! Folks are enjoying the Chama River, Abiquiu Lake, and surrounding mountains. At times, we have felt overwhelmed balancing the safety of our employees while providing services to our customers.

Adjustments and improvements at Bode's:

- Many new selections in our hot and cold cases (counter service remains closed).

- Outdoor picnic tables have replaced inside seating.

- New grocery items have been added to our shelves and freezers, for those wanting to avoid big store shopping.

- All fuel pumps replaced by new fueling stations with the latest electronic technology.

Saddest news: for the first time in 26 years, we are cancelling Santa's visit. We look forward to his return, and celebrating the season with all of you, again next year.

Bodes is making every effort to stay open and serve our customers. We are receiving fresh produce three times a week, fresh frozen meats once a week and regular grocery items throughout the week. Paper products are not being consistently delivered, particularly tissue. Our animal feed is also in good supply. Please stay safe, we are all in this together.
