Weโre excited to host a ham curing workshop- Monday, January 12th at 6:30 PM
Virginia Style Country Ham Curing Workshop
If you are interested in learning how to cure a country ham, Virginia style, we will be conducting a hands-on workshop at 6:30 p.m. on Monday January 12, 2026 at Anderson and Sons meat processing located at 13030 Chip Ridge Rd., Abingdon, Virginia. Participants will learn the process and science behind curing country hams. Each participant will prepare their own ham with the cure and at the end of the curing process will take their ham home for their own use. The program will consist of three sessions as follows: 6:00 p.m., Monday, January 12; 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, January 20; and a session TBA in mid-March. The cost of the course will be $50.00 per participant. This includes the cost of the ham and curing ingredients. The hams will stay at the Anderson and Sons facility until the end of the curing period at which time participants will take their hams home to age.
