โOrganic shopping is a luxury and actually for the rich.โ Like many of us, this was my thinking towards organic shopping until I visited Ark Organics Uganda; an online and offline organic shop.
As a snack lover, my first spot was the snacks shelf stocked with different Ugandan homemade fresh fruit snack varieties; Maima dried pineapples, Tiny Mariam veggie and cassava chips dried under an eco-friendly solar drying method, Tooke biscuits, now these amused me, I never imagined eating my favourite food; matooke as a snack, zero sugars, zero additives great natural nutrient-rich taste.
The Grocery, the Organic Grocery! All fresh, green, succulent and 100% natural organic. The Ark organics grocery reminded me of my grandfatherโs organic garden in Namutamba- Mityana. Whenever I visited him, I made it a point to go to his organic garden. It was ever young-fresh. I felt like purchasing everything but it wasnโt part of my organic shopping list. I had to stick to my budget. The oranges, green and red apples, the fresh Rhubarb, the leafy Lettuce, the succulent red tomatoes, the native organic cassava grown in the Ugandan tropical soils with that extra carbohydrate content.
The home dรฉcor, Wines and liquor, Dairy products, the organic kitchen; the natural toxic-free aroma from the kitchen was irresistible, I couldnโt miss tasting the home kitchen prepared fresh sweetness and probably copy some food recipes. The calorie-rich chicken pizza was worth tasting!
