Yirol East Health Society has been looking for our own son, Honourable Athiei Ayual Makoi for the last three months. Yes, 3 months!

We couldn't access him.

Dear Yirol East County people:

I know some of you will comment under this post that I should inbox him on WhatsApp or anywhere privately, but the fact remains that Honourable Athiei's busy schedules cannot make him to recognise the health personnels of Yirol East through Inbox or through other people.

Dear brother, honourable Athiei Ayual:

Yirol East Health Society is a registered non- governmental organisation. This organisation is the face of Yirol East. It is yearly event for medical and surgical camping plus awareness.
The surgical and medical camping that can be done by the end of the year would increase your legacy if you add your hands into it. The health specialists who will do camping are your backbones.

Dear brother,

No group of medical personnel is looking for the job at Nile Pet, but this group is trying to help the community through the respected sons and daughters of Yirol East.

We recognise your hard work that you have lifted the face of Nile petroleum. Yirol East Health Society needs you the most before 7th November this coming month. The society will be launched on the 7th November.

Yirol East Health Society is more than the elders, leaders and the people that you have helped. The help of Sick Person is the help of the nation.

We are hopeful to get back to us.

Note: This request is absolutely mine, despite being the director for Information. The society didn't send me to do so publicly even though we have been looking for Athiei.

Fellow South Sudanese, fellow staff of Nilepet, and friends of the oil industry,

We have seen with our own eyes what MD Economist Emmanuel Athiei Ayual has accomplished in a short period at Nile Petroleum Corporation (Nilepet).

1. He Has Improved the Welfare of Nilepet Staff:
For the first time, staff welfare has become a priority. Economist Emmanuel Athiei Ayual Makoi restored timely payment of salaries and paid end-of-service benefits for former MDs. A worker whose welfare is respected will work with loyalty and patriotism. Today, Nilepet staff are motivated and hopeful.

2. He Has Strengthened Relationships With Petroleum Partners and Institutions:
He has rebuilt trust with the Joint Operating Companies (JOCs), the Ministry of Petroleum, and international partners. He has restored professionalism and credibility to Nilepet as a National Oil Company that adheres to the Petroleum Act 2012.

3. He Has Secured Our National Assets:
He inspected fuel depots, resumed production in Heglig and Baboo, and is working to ensure fuel security for the elections. He is protecting the oil wealth of South Sudan for its people.

OUR CALL:
Let us not undermine him with politics and tribalism. Let us support a technocrat who is delivering results. Supporting a leader who improves workers' welfare and strengthens the institution is supporting South Sudan itself.

SPLM Secretary Arrives in Rumbek

Rumbek – Cde. Abraham Meen Kuc, the SPLM Secretary for Lakes State, arrived today in Rumbek, the capital of Lakes State.

He was warmly received by SPLM cadres, the SPLM State leadership, former State Members of Parliament, and other officials at the Lakes State SPLM Headquarters.

Cde. Abraham Meen Kuc was officially received by the Senior Advisor to the Government of Lakes State, Hon. Poth Madit Dut, who also serves as the political advisor to the governor.

PUBLIC DECLARATION OF INTENT

On 9, October 2026, I, Dr. Awel Majok Kuong formally declared my intent to contest for the SPLM ticket to represent Yirol East County, Constituency No. 7.

Who I Am;
I am Hon. Dr. Awel Majok Kuong. I left my medical profession to join politics during the liberation struggle.

I have served the SPLM and our people as:

- Member of the group of 24-Members and group 10-Members Committees formed by the late Dr. John Garang de Mabior
- Member of the SPLM Secretariat
- Delegate to the SPLM National Convention, 2008
- Former Member of the National Parliament, Deputy Chairperson of the Health Committee, Member of the SPLM Liberation Council, and former Deputy Speaker

Why I Am Contesting;
My candidacy is based on servant leadership. My priorities are:

1. Security as the foundation for development
2. Service delivery and land management
3. Health services
4. Youth and women empowerment
5. Infrastructure, including Yirol West-Shambe Road via Nyang and revitalization of Shambe Port
6. Upholding the legacy of the Late Majok Kuong

I believe our community needs a servant, not a general. I have no personal differences with anyone, and I am ready to work with all.

I wish to extend my heartfelt gratitude to my supporters and to all those who turned up on the day of my declaration at SPLM Plaza. Your presence, encouragement, and solidarity mean a great deal to me.

Following the declaration, I, on Wednesday, held a brief introductory meeting with local media houses to acknowledge the tremendous work they continue to do in informing, educating, and uniting our communities.

In particular, I sincerely appreciate the media houses that volunteered to provide live coverage of the event, including Muor-Ageer, Muor-Ajut, Athiei TV, Yirol East TV, Anyar-Jur Media, Nyin-Weng Media, Majuet-Dit Media, Ajac Machol Ajac and many others, for their professionalism, dedication, and voluntary service to the people of Yirol East and to democracy at large.
