🍈 Honeydew or cantaloupe? Not the same melon!

They may look similar, but here's how to tell them apart! Honeydew has smooth, pale green skin and sweet green flesh, while cantaloupe has netted skin and orange flesh.

Now you know what to look for on your next grocery run!🍈🧡

No seeds. No problem.

Bananas are one of nature’s seedless superstars.

The bananas we commonly eat have been bred to develop without the large, hard seeds found in their wild relatives. Instead of growing from seeds, banana plants are usually propagated from suckers.

A fruit that skips the seeds? Pretty clever.

Bananas are berries. Strawberries aren’t. Let that sink in.

Botanically speaking, the berry aisle isn’t quite what it seems.

Bananas are true berries, while strawberries and raspberries are not. It all comes down to how the fruit develops from the flower.

Nature really said, “Let’s make this confusing.”

Even vegetables have trends. 🥕👑

Purple carrots were the original — cultivated for thousands of years before orange took over in 17th century Europe. Now nobody talks about the OG anymore.

For what it's worth, purple carrots are packed with anthocyanins, the same antioxidant found in blueberries. The original king had range.

Fruit can be sweet AND low in sugar. Here's proof. 🍓

Not all fruits are created equal when it comes to sugar content. These five are some of the lowest around — great news if you're watching your intake but still want to snack smart.

🍓 Strawberry — about 7g of sugar per cup. High in vitamin C and antioxidants.
🥝 Kiwi — around 9g per 100g. Packed with vitamin C, K and fibre.
🍋 Grapefruit — about 8g per half fruit. Known for supporting digestion and metabolism.
🥑 Avocado — less than 1g of sugar per 100g. Yes, avocado is technically a fruit.
🫐 Blackberry — around 4.9g per 100g. Full of fibre which slows sugar absorption too.

The takeaway? Eating fruit is still one of the smartest choices you can make. Just know which ones work best for you.

Purple carrots were actually the original — but they weren't particularly sweet or crunchy.🥕

Farmers selectively bred carrots for sweetness, size and texture over hundreds of years, a process called selective breeding.

Selective breeding is actually how a lot of our everyday produce came to be. Bananas, watermelons, corn — all very different from what they looked like centuries ago.

🍓How to Tell If Your Strawberries Have Gone Bad

Strawberries are delicate, and knowing what to look out for can help you avoid wasting good produce !

Here are a few signs to check:

🍓 Mould — If you spot fuzzy white, green, or grey mould, it’s time to discard them.

🍓 Mushy or leaking — Strawberries that have become excessively soft, wet, or are leaking juice are past their best.

🍓 Dark or brown spots — A few minor bruises are usually fine, but large dark, sunken, or spreading spots can indicate spoilage.

🍓 Unpleasant smell — If they smell sour, fermented, or otherwise off, it’s best not to eat them.

Fresh-looking strawberries should be firm, vibrant, and smell naturally sweet. 🍓✨

Anyone else gets confused between these 2? Because you're not alone.

Rambutan and lychee are often mistaken for each other — and honestly, it's an easy mix-up. They're close cousins, similar in colour and even taste, but not quite the same fruit. The texture, the skin, even the size gives it away once you know what to look for.

Next time you're picking between the two, you'll know exactly which is which. 😉

Orange foods aren't just vibrant. They're loaded with good stuff. 🧡🥕🍑

Did you know: they get their colour from beta-carotene, an antioxidant your body converts into vitamin A, which supports healthy eyes, skin, and a stronger immune system.

Bright, beautiful, and basically doing your body a favour. 😉
