LOOK: The Province of Bohol, through the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPA), successfully conducted the Focus Group Discussion (FGD) with Ubi Stakeholders on September 3, 2025 at JJs Seafood Village, Tagbilaran City.

The activity gathered 20 Ubi growers and processors from across Bohol and served as a platform to collect critical insights for the Industry Value Chain Analysis (IVCA) of the Ubi Kinampay industry. Through SWOT Analysis, FGDs, and Key Informant Interviews (KII), participants shared valuable perspectives to assess the industry’s current status and help shape strategies for sustainable development.

The outputs of this FGD will also serve as essential references for the upcoming presentation to the Ubi Board and as supporting content for the IPOPHIL application on Geographical Indication (GI) for Ubi Kinampay — a significant step in protecting and promoting Bohol’s agricultural heritage.

Moving forward, the OPA aims to continue engaging stakeholders in participatory activities, foster collaboration with partner agencies, and sustain initiatives that strengthen the pride of Bohol — our very own Ubi Kinampay.

LOOK: The Province of Bohol, through the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist, successfully convened the Bohol Rural Improvement Club (RIC) Meeting on August 29, 2025 at, Panda Tea, Tagbilaran City.

The meeting served as a platform to discuss organizational updates, strengthen coordination among RIC leaders, and identify priority programs that will further empower women in agriculture and community development. It also provided an opportunity to share best practices, and address concerns raised by members.

Moving forward, the RIC aims to sustain active participation in upcoming national and provincial activities, enhance livelihood and skills development initiatives, and continue fostering collaboration with local government units and partner agencies for the benefit of its members and communities 💚🌾.
